For the sake of the post, I'm going to categorize LEO users in two categories. One is the investors, who can afford to hodl long term and the other is those living off of what they earn. I know it's not this simple, but for the purpose of my post, let's say there are only these two categories. Even though I'm not living off my earnings, I've been thinking what could I do with 10 LEO per day. For those of you who don't know me, I live in Romania, a European country, part of the European Union, which has not adopted the EURO yet. I hope we will never get there as things are not looking great at the moment and adopting EURO as the country's currency would mean extra expenses and this is not the only reason. *As a curiosity, the national currency of Romania is LEU, which means lion, or leo if you like.* Back to my topic, 10 LEO at the time of writing would equal to $0.26, which means 10 LEO equals to $2.6. [source](https://www.bancatransilvania.ro/en/curs-valutar-spot/) Looking at a Romanian bank's exchange rate, you can see 1 USD can be sold at 4.073 Lei, which means 2.6 USD is 10.59 Lei. In a country, where the minimum wage (in your hand) is 1,386 Lei, 10.59 Lei won't get you far, but let's see what exactly could you do with it, in case you would have to live off 10 LEO/day. ## Food Having a tight budget makes you think twice about what you can afford, so my primary focus was on food as there's no life without food. The cheapest breakfast I could think of was a crescent, which is 50 Bani, or 0.5 Lei if you like. As a crescent won't get you far, I thought a yogurt would be nice to have with it. This is a 400ml yogurt, that costs 2.75 Lei and will fill your stomach for a couple of hours. So the breakfast would cost you 3.25 Lei, remaining 7.34 Lei from the daily budget. Lunch is a difficult one. If you are looking for a daily menu, which in my country means low budget menu, containing a soup, main course and some kind of dessert, you would need to pay around 19 Lei. This is a daily menu from a random diner. It's predetermined, you get what they are offering. The offer is good if you ask me, the soup is one of my favorite, the main course is pork and you get a ciabatta as well, plus some kind of dessert, which can be a couple of biscuits or an apple. But .... you can't afford it as it's almost double of your daily budget. This is a big chicken sandwich with crispy chicken breast, French fries, pickles, mayo and garlic. It would fill your stomach for the most part of the day, but it costs 18 Lei, almost as a menu, but the remaining funds can't cover the cost. A cheaper option would be this instant chicken soup with noodles, that only needs some hot water and your soup is ready. It's a fast, cheap and unhealthy option as it's full of chemicals, that makes the content last for a good few months, but beggars can't be choosers, so it has to be ok. Let's say I can get some hot water for free, so with this soup, I would be spending 5.04 Lei, almost half of the budget. For dinner I could have a cheap burger, the cheapest from McDonalds, or buy two croissants. Photo by <a href="https://unsplash.com/@alexkixa?utm_source=unsplash&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=creditCopyText">Alexandre Debiève</a> on <a href="https://unsplash.com/s/photos/bus?utm_source=unsplash&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=creditCopyText">Unsplash</a> ## Transportation Transportation is part of a daily routine if you want to get from one part of the city to the other. Driving is out of the question as gassing up your personal car is out of the question. An one way ticket would cost me 2 Lei, a return ticket is double, but in case I want to buy the bus ticket, would need to sacrifice a meal as I could not have both. ## Needs At these rates, this is what I could do with 10 LEO/day. I would be able to feed myself, barely and nothing more. I can't say I live in an expensive country as my country is at the end of all lists when it comes to statistics, in other, more developed countries in Europe life is way more expensive. With 10 LEO at this rate you could buy a metropolitan or bus ticket max. Paying rent or buying clothes would definitely be out of the question. The rent for an apartment would be around $350 - $400, which at $0.26/LEO, would mean 1,538 LEO. For a decent, empty apartment I would need at least 2 BTC. For a house one obviously would need a good few BTC. Maybe in countries where inflation is high, or life is very cheap, compared to the US Dollar value, 10 LEO would be enough to survive, but not here. ## Then What's The Point? Yes, some may ask what's the point of being here day in, day out if what i am earning can't even cover my daily food needs. Well, the answer is very simple. This blockchain is very young, it's one year old and despite its young age, it's way ahead of the old chain. The market value of HIVE and LEO is volatile but so is BTC and the alts. For me, this is a long term project. The market value of these tokens may be low, but this will not be the case forever. The potential of this platform is huge, so the market value could double, triple or 10x very soon. Remember when [Laszlo paid 10,000 BTC for a couple of pizza in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2010](https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137.0)? Someone said at that time that 10,000 BTC could have been sold for $41USD at that time. [Here](http://heliacal.net/~solar/bitcoin/pizza/) is the photo of the two pizza he bought with 10,000 BTC at that time. I kind of see us in a similar situation, even though I know LEO or HIVE would probably not worth $39,000 in 10 years. No one knows what 1 LEO or HIVE will worth in 10 years, maybe I'll be able to pay my bills with one month of earnings, or even less. I'm pretty sure those who are accumulating now and HODL-ing, will be very happy. We've come so far and after all these years, all the ups and downs and scandals, we're still here, because we believe in the platform and the potential of it. We have new projects all the time as building on the platform is the future. <center><a href="https://www.presearch.org/signup?rid=2058286" target="_blank"> <img src="https://presearch.org/images/rf/ban-4.jpg" title="Presearch" alt="presearch" /> </a></center> Posted Using [LeoFinance Beta](https://leofinance.io/@erikah/what-can-i-do-with-10-leo-day-today-and-in-the-future)

It's a nice and motivational post for those who are here for a long time and keep holding their coins, power and inspiring to those who are here for the long term. I'm also sure that we have a big potential if we stay here long enough. As you said, it's only about one year old, and we have to form our real opinion in at least 10 years.

Those who are here for years and still active, will stay for sure. The chain is just one year old, but we have a 5 year old history. Very soon the market will look very different, you'll see. Posted Using [LeoFinance Beta](https://leofinance.io/@erikah/re-clixmoney-2medxw)

For me I would advise you to keep your Leo for now and wait for a better turnover you never can tell what will happen in the next two, three, four years and keep saving till you hit that jackpot. --- <center>Posted via [proofofbrain.io](https://www.proofofbrain.io/@midocoded/qxdsll)</center>

In Nigeria, 2.5$ will get you two tiny meat pies and a bottle of coke, the meat pies combined will look like one of that crescent, it is hardly filling, else one wants to opt for noodles. Posted Using [LeoFinance Beta](https://leofinance.io/@mistakili/re-erikah-598wbp)

> As a curiosity, the national currency of Romania is LEU, which means lion, or leo if you like. That's a fun coincidence! Great post too! I don't live off my earnings here but this got me curious to think about what I could do with 10 LEO a day over here. I might do a similar experiment :) Posted Using [LeoFinance Beta](https://leofinance.io/@tfranzini/re-erikah-7ugnrv)

It's a good strategy. I've never sold a single LEO and it's highly unlikely I will in the near future. It's too valuable to sell now. Posted Using [LeoFinance Beta](https://leofinance.io/@erikah/re-whatsup-48nbrw)
