<p>If you do NOT get any new blocks (A), I'd recommend:</p>

<p>a) you restart the Gridcoin client a few times, like this:</p>
<p> 1. restart wallet and wait 30 mins</p>
<p> 2. no new block? restart again + wait 30 mins</p>
<p> 3. repeat step 2 how often you want</p>

<p>b) If no new block:</p>
<p> 1. consider using the snapshot (more secure is the !bootstrap, see also: !bootstrap advantage), see (B), AND</p>
<p> 2. a new addnodes list</p>
<p>c) If you're unwilling to use the snapshot, you should sync from 0. (C)</p>

<p>(A) this is most likely because your client is connected to nodes which give you "wrong" blocks and your 3.5.8.7 node does not accept those</p>

<p>snapshot howto:</p>
<p> 1. get the archived <a href="http://download.gridcoin.us/download/downloadstake/signed/snapshot.zip">snapshot file</a> (this should bring you up to block #853500)</p>
<p> 2. close Gridcoin</p>
<p> 3. navigate to your data dir: e.g. for windows: %appdata%\GridcoinResearch and for linux: /home/your_user/.GridcoinResearch/</p>
<p> 4. delete everything, except: gridcoinresearch.conf, wallet.dat and walletbackups folder</p>
<p> 5. make also sure that your .conf file has uptodate Gridcoin nodes on top, working one is: ormgas.com</p>
<p>e.g. in linux you can also start your Gridcoin with: ./gridcoinresearch -maxconnections=1 -connect=ormgas.com</p>
<p>if you want, you should also delete your peers.dat file now (info about past nodes you connected to will now be gone)</p>
<p>KEEP IN MIND: this is a personal server and it may get full, also: ormgas is <strong>not an official server</strong></p>

<p> 6. now is also a good time to do a backup of the files from step4</p>
<p> 7. extract the snapshot/bootstrap file to folder from step3</p>
<p> 8. launch the Gridcoin client</p>
<p> 9. make sure in your peer list that only 1 peer appears</p>
<p> 10. how long does it take ? depends on CPU (4h on Intel Core i5-7200U 3.1 GHz, import: single-thread, and nothing intensive on processor elsewise)... </p>
<p> 11. when the snapshot/bootstrap was imported, check with !verify if all goes in the right direction</p>
<p> 12. once all seems fine, please set your connections (maxconnections) to the normal value please</p>

<p> 1. start the Gridcoin wallet with admin rights (admin rights are required only under Windows)</p>
