Si pudiera definir el factor clave de este encuentro serían: los errores de Digne y el gran despliegue de Cash alternando de lateral a extremo. El Aston Villa se caracteriza por ser bastante técnico con el trato del balón, pases cortos continuos para marear rivales, retención del balón hasta encontrar espacios y avanzar, quitar balones al rival mediante la superación numérica reduciendo los espacios, honestamente es interesante el talento que hay, incluso Douglas Luiz muestra destellos de calidad rompiendo líneas por los costados y logrando efectividad en los pases con taco. El central Konsa del Aston Villa, me llamó la atención ver como sale con el balón desde su área, entonces sale corriendo al medio y lanza un pase al área del Everton, en el que Mings la logra alcanzar y da un pase hacia el medio con la cabeza, Mings se la regresa a Douglas Luiz que remata de primera al palo izquierdo, no obstante sale desviada, un equipo sincronizado, increíble como saben leer sus movimientos para anticiparse.

El jugador que más me gustó del Everton fue Iwobi, jugando como mediocampista por banda izquierda, en la labor defensiva cubría a Ramsey, mientras que Digne más atrás se encargaba de Ings. Iwobi en los contra ataques, salía con el balón jugando por fuera en la banda, recortaba con amagues para meterse a jugar por dentro en el medio como media punta acompañando a Gray, transiciones inmediatas y un despliegue que abre un abanico de oportunidades. La tarea de Allan y Doucouré era la de distribuir y hacer transitar la pelota hacia costado para Townsend e Iwobi, y jugar vertical para Gray y Salomón Rondón. En mi opinión, escaso aporte en la construcción de jugadas claves, no son jugadores con la mejor técnica sino se destacan más en el aspecto posicional, recuperar con presión alta y dársela a compañeros que tengan recursos de desborde, para ellos evadir los marcajes. El partido le sonreía al Aston Villa, pero no lograba concretar manteniendo hasta el minuto 66 la paridad a 0.

Me parece interesante entender como Douglas Luiz confiaba en que Cash iba a retratar a Digne cuando estaban prácticamente pegados disputando un balón, e iba abrirse para definir espectacular con su pierna menos hábil. Segundo gol: Corner a favor del Aston Villa cobrado por Bailey, el centro lo intercepta Digne tratando de despejarlo pero finalmente entra en la línea de gol. Lo más gracioso de la celebración fue que Bailey pensaba que había hecho un gol olímpico, posteriormente el juez aclaró que fue autogol.
