Notifications - How they completely change your experience?!

We are constantly exploring and improving notification services to help our users stay engaged but also protected. Over the last few month, we made great progress making it most stable but also expandable, scalable service. In this post we will talk about some of these improvements.

## Engagement

Activities combined with push notifications are one of our core product that has been serving everyone for more than 2 years. It gives opportunity to stay up to date and improve your engagement with your audience without missing a minute. Everyone building following and community around them knows that engagement is very important. For that reason, we put a lot time and effort making sure they work and deliver message in timely manner.

## Protection

This is another important topic, we think about, almost in every change we do in our services. Protecting users when there is abusive behavior on their account (spam comments), make sure notifications are valuable. We have recently implemented filter that won't send push notification to your device, if abusive account comments on your posts. Activity is still visible on your activity list but push notifications are not pushed to protect user. We are continuously improving system and making sure, it serves you best.

## Iterations

No system is perfect unless constantly iterated and improved. Earlier today, we have added some new features and had technical difficulties in process. But our team fixed issues promptly. Over the coming months we will be expanding notifications service and your feedback along the way is really valuable.

Filtering comment notifications for spam? Wow! This is a feature that I really need but didn't realize so.

Hmmm... Can we control who to ban from push notifications? Maybe a user managed list in which we can **add accounts that is not abusive but we don't want to get a notifications for.**

I really appreciate the notifications it does make my steem experience for better and remember to keep up with what’s on the chain! What could be cool is if you could set notifications for certain authors like a bell so when they post you get a notification

I love the notifications. My only problem with eSteem app is that while I am writing a blog post, sometimes I need to edit photos or do some research and when I come back to the app, my work is deleted. Even if I save it before editing photos it’s still gone or only half of it was saved after having to put the pin code in each time.

So, I have to write the text in a notepad and then cut and paste it all again. I lost hours of work last night and had to re-type it.

For now, I have disabled the pin code in the settings and hope this doesn’t keep happening.
This is on the iPad version.

Please make sure you are using 2.2.4 version, we have fixed auto saving. It should save your post and you can go edit photo and come back continue writing. Let me know if you are using latest version and still see the issue.
