Ayer, luego de 9 años, volví a cruzar el puente sobre el lago de Maracaibo y tuve la oportunidad de caminar por las calles de la ciudad.
La razón de mi visita era que mi compañera Elieska y yo nos encontrábamos en la búsqueda de algunas cosas para el evento que daremos el próximo domingo llamado Convinarte (del cual aún les debo un post). En Maracaibo suelen ser más económicas las cosas que en mi ciudad, así que para ahorrarnos algunos centavos nos lanzamos esa travesía.
Mientras caminábamos por el centro de la ciudad, pasamos cerca del Centro de Arte de Maracaibo "Lía Bermúdez" y no podía perder la oportunidad de visitarlo y ver qué obras tenían en exhibición para este día.

Yesterday, after 9 years, I crossed the bridge over the lake of Maracaibo again and had the opportunity to walk through the streets of the city.
The reason for my visit was that my partner Elieska and I were in search of some things for the event we will give next Sunday called Convinarte (of which I still owe you a post). In Maracaibo things are usually cheaper than in my city, so to save a few cents we went on this trip.
While we were walking around downtown, we passed by the Centro de Arte de Maracaibo "Lía Bermúdez" and I couldn't miss the opportunity to visit it and see what works they had on display for this day.

Ese sitio me trae muchos recuerdos de cuando era más joven. Cuando iba de visita a la ciudad para visitar a mi abuela, mi papá solía llevarme para que admiráramos las obras de arte que estuvieran exhibidas.
Fue mi papá quien me acercó al mundo del arte, del que hoy estoy haciendo vida dando mis clases de pintura. Es algo que le agradezco eternamente. Luego les compartiré parte de los recuerdos que aún conservo de mis anteriores visitas.
Al llegar lo primero que hice fue introducirme en la obra de Jesús Soto, el "Penetrable del Zulia". Este artista fue un gran exponente del arte cinético en nuestro país, y sus obras han llegado a muchos países del mundo.
Lo genial de sus obras es que el espectador tiene la oportunidad de interactuar con ellas. Para eso fue creado. El poder introducirme dentro de esta gran obra de arte nuevamente fue una experiencia enriquecedora.
Ya luego si saludé a las personas en recepción y firmé el libro de visitas 😂, Mi compañera mientras tanto había quedado como que 😨 jajaja😂

That place brings back a lot of memories from when I was younger. When I would go to the city to visit my grandmother, my dad used to take me there to admire the works of art that were on display.
It was my dad who brought me closer to the world of art, which today I am making a living by giving my painting classes. It is something I am eternally grateful to him. Then I will share with you some of the memories I still have of my previous visits.
When I arrived the first thing I did was to introduce myself in the work of Jesús Soto, the "Penetrable of Zulia". This artist was a great exponent of kinetic art in our country, and his works have reached many countries around the world.
The great thing about his works is that the viewer has the opportunity to interact with them. That is what he was created for. To be able to introduce myself inside this great work of art again was an enriching experience.
Then I greeted the people at the reception and signed the guest book 😂, My partner meanwhile had been like that 😨 hahaha😂.

En ese momento solo habían dos exposiciones de arte disponibles. La primera era del fotógrafo Omer Ávila, y su exposición tenia por nombre "Omitiendo el ser".
Las fotografías tenían como tema principal la violencia de genero y pues su obra nos presentaba una especie de protesta.
No es un tema que me haga mucho ruido, pero igual demostré el respeto y admiración que merecía el artista con su trabajo.

At that time there were only two art exhibitions available. The first one was by photographer Omer Avila, and his exhibition was called "Omitiendo el ser" (Omitting the self).
The main theme of the photographs was gender violence and his work presented us with a kind of protest.
It is not a topic that makes much noise to me, but I still showed the respect and admiration that the artist deserved with his work.

La otra exposición era sobre la fundación del Lía Bermúdez. Nos presentaban fotografías de la inauguración y las obras de los fundadores de dicho centro de arte.
Lo genial es que pude admirar varias de las obras de la propia artista escultora Lía Bermúdez, como estas que tenemos por acá que no tiene título.
La grandes rocas son de carbón germinado y la otra obra es hierro soldado con madera.

The other exhibition was about the founding of the Lía Bermúdez. We were presented with photographs of the inauguration and the works of the founders of the art center.
The great thing is that I was able to admire several of the works of the sculptor Lía Bermúdez herself, such as these untitled works that we have here.
The big rocks are made of sprouted charcoal and the other work is iron welded with wood.

La mayoría de las obras tenían décadas. Algunas fueran hechas un año después de mi nacimiento, es decir que tenían sus 30 años. Lo maravilloso del arte es que tiene la capacidad de perdurar en el tiempo, por supuesto con sus debidos cuidados.
Es maravilloso poder ver estas obras que tienen tanto tiempo y que a artistas como a mi, nos enseñan tanto e inspiran. Para esa época las obras de arte eran enormes y cargadas de color y dinamismo.

Most of the works were decades old. Some were made a year after my birth, that is, they were 30 years old. The wonderful thing about art is that it has the ability to endure over time, of course with proper care.
It is wonderful to be able to see these works that are so old and that teach artists like me so much and inspire us. At that time the works of art were huge and full of color and dynamism.

Cada artista tiene su técnica y su forma de transmitirnos sus mensaje. Sin duda el poder ver estas obras en vivo y directo fue maravilloso. Aunque fue una visita breve tuve la oportunidad de traer estos recuerdos en físico conmigo a través de las fotografías, lo que me permite estudiar a detalle cada una de estas obras.

Each artist has their own technique and their own way of transmitting their message. Undoubtedly, being able to see these works live and direct was wonderful. Although it was a brief visit I had the opportunity to bring these memories with me in physical form through photographs, which allows me to study in detail each of these works.
