Hello, my diary, I am back again, I know it's only been a few hours, but I couldn't help myself. So I came across a quote by Dhirubhai Ambani which says "If you don’t build your dream, someone else will hire you to help them build theirs". That quote took me down the memory lane when I was trying to make something better out of my life, but the question though is how did I succeed in building my dreams hmmm, let's leave that for later. 

Remember I  am from a family of four, and I am the last male child and I hardly get attention from my father or my siblings because I didn't live up to my dad's expectations haha funny right? Well, Dad was at the end impressed with who I became and how I made my life better with Christ who strengthened me and hard work. 

So years ago, before I became the governor of my state, I was a salesperson in a pastry shop, my boss was always mean to me band he paid me peanuts considering all the work I do for him. I had no choice back then but to keep working there because I needed the money. I had no vision of what my life would entail then, no plans, no resources, and nothing to do with my life. 

At home, I was always ridiculed because I refused to go to the military school my dad envisioned for all the four boys. The rest of my siblings had already secured a military Job, but I had nothing and I was usually useless to the family as my dad would always say while my brothers would laugh at me. 

My boss at the bakery kept on growing and growing until he opened another bakery along the north side of the city. I still didn't have a vision for myself. So one day I was fed up with the peanut salary and I decided to quit. You know what my boss said, "oh my boy you have really helped me to build my bakery business and you are leaving?". Like who does that? 

I was so disappointed in myself that I realized that I'd helped my boss build his dreams while I ignored my dreams and vision. Shitttt! It hurt me so bad. Then I realized, "If you don’t build your dream, someone else will hire you to help them build theirs" and that is what happened to me. I wasted six good years of my life building someone else's dream. 

The next thing I did was to move out of the family house and rent a little apartment downtown, with my savings. I needed the space to think about my life, vision and my dreams. There I planned out how to make my dreams come true. My vision and dreams were scary though, but in the end, I got what I wanted. 

So if you are reading my diary this morning, know that;

You are not meant to BUILD ANOTHER PERSON'S DREAM! 
You are not meant to IGNORE YOUR OWN DREAMS AND VISION!
You are meant to BUILD YOUR DREAMS! 
Don't give up on YOURSELF EASILY!
