Citizen Science: Project FeederWatch -- Count #22 Report w/Original Photos

Citizen science is a great way to involve children and adults in the discovery of nature and contributing to scientific research and conservation.  Project FeederWatch through Cornell University is a great way to get involved in citizen science. You can learn more at the [Project FeederWatch](http://feederwatch.org) website.

I typically watch birds on Saturday and Sunday.  This is my report for 7-8 April 2018.  Final report for 2017-2018 Project FeederWatch season.

# Bird Watching Notes



## Saturday

Saturday was partly sunny, a high temperature of 41 degrees (F), and a low temperature of 17 degrees (F).  The wind was from the North with an average speed of 5 mph and gust up to 19 mph.

It snowed overnight and Saturday morning started off with snow on the ground.  As the day progressed the snow melted until it was all gone by the end of the day.

On Saturday a few squirrels helped themselves to some nuts in and around the bird feeder.

Sunday was cloudy with a high temperature of 36 degrees (F) and a low temperature of 28 degrees (F).  The wind was from the Southeast with an average speed of 16.3 mph and highest wind gust 43 mph.

Publishing on SteemIt is very easy.

Since the bird counting season is over, I will turn my attention to other pursuits like landscape and animal photography to name a few.

When you publish a blog post with a picture, it always helps to tell about the picture.

Whenever you publish, always include a picture or a graphic.  Posts with pictures and graphics get more attention.

Finally, use tags that relate to your blog post.  For example, pictures of birds can include tags like animalphotograhy and photography.

It will take a bit of time to build a following.  If you are patient and persistent, it will start to payoff.

I liked so much the "blue jay", the color of its feathers is really nice. I don't know if it's correct or not, but it seems me that I have seen "White-Breasted Nuthatch" here in the forest nearby. Although I'm not sure about that, I will take in consideration your pics to make a comparison.

Beautiful pictures and lovely birds. My favorite is the Northern Cardinal but I admit the metalic blue of the Common Grackle is really classy ...On the other hand, in terms of light and colour balance, the House Finch pictures are probably the best, IMO.

It's amazing the squirrel's hair, it's shiny! I love the colors of the birds, they are very intense, the Common Grackle a long time ago caused me fear, and I discovered that it was because of the stories of a girl, because they were like the witches' birds, haha! Now I look at you, they are so beautiful! Your camera is very good you get amazing photos, when I grow up I want to be like you, haha good at least when I have my camera! Blessings @etcmike!
