# Etch Update

### The Etch Economy

"HODL on (sorry) I thought Etch was just a payroll company for the construction industry...???"

Ah, well... Payroll (or in our case replacing it with a number of smart contracts) has always been the facilitator that turns static, clunky money into a stream of money at its source - when people get paid.

Then the magic happens.

And by magic, I mean game-changing benefits for society.

I often mention the worker with zero money in the morning going to work and being able to buy lunch with money earnt that morning... but what if that "stream" of wages could bring down the household living costs too? 

"What, are you telling me energy providers and insurance companies will create new specific tariffs and policies to get their money quicker and pass on those savings to customers??"

You betcha.

We are taking with both the insurance industry and energy industry to make that a reality. 

We've had a great start to 2018: our tokens are out, we have new team members and advisors (more on that soon) and we've been inundated with business enquires. This week we met with an FTSE100 company to talk about how they could pay their workers who are in the "gig" economy, faster and more efficient. We walked away from that meeting with a signed NDA to explore things further.

Last night we had out three-weekly  N.O.M.A.N. meetup where John our new Cheif Futurist explains for the first time the concept of "The Etch Economy".
