It's very unsettling to see what might be described as a dystopian future in the present. Also the passive attitude of the rest of the world to such abusses is even more messed up.

Technologies can be shaped as a form of violence, like a gun for war, or the actual surveillance gun of violation of peoples privacy.
Great inventions with use for Humanity finish in the hands of the militarized war" mongos" and centralized state agencies.
In the end, they use Science against people. Like Edgar Morin says Science should have a conscience.
And that conscience should care about Humanity

Wow. This tech are really futuristic. 

I can imagine how they have really grown from humans to machines. 
And I would say that in terms of surveillance, this tech is more accurate and timely for the crimes going on in our society today.

And I must say that this project is really timely. The rate of crimes, misidentity and every event that has to do with security has greatly increased, this research as well as implementation is really a good way to reduce crime.

Yeah. China has really gone very far technologically. At least this new technology has been able to reduce the pressure and flaws of humans with its accuracy and precision.

Side bar note, did not realize how aggressive China is with terrorism. It makes USA/Europe look very weak considering what the Chinese government has done in Xinjiang. Nothing is perfect but the government is being very proactive. So sad for the citizens though. It is like a prison.

There is no doubt at all technology has it's own bright and dark sides. It is always hurting whenever i see that terrorism is prevailing day by day in my beloved universe, should be stopped at once, else-wise there would remain nothing behind but only bloodshed!!

This field seems to be moving so fast now. Some of the uses are scary, but we need it for things like self-driving cars that may eventually be far safer than humans.

I very much agree with you when you say that sometimes it's good and other bad. But science and technology I see as something autonomous that is growing, advancing and progressing. And it depends on the hands that fall if he has conscience or not.

Eek, Islamic terrorists in China, I did not know! When, O when, will this madness end?!  Sad to say that China's police/surveillance state reminds me of Home, Egypt and, in some ways, the US is not too, too far behind.

Also, by association, re: your closing  remark, I think of Alfred Nobel's quote:
