Welcome back to another episode of the Hivelearners Community Prompt! This prompt is really lovely, and I am inspired to share my thoughts on it.

One of the things I believe is killing people but we believe it to be helpful is ***SODA DRINKS***. Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Fanta, and so on are examples of drinks that can harm a person's health, their sugar content is very high and noticeable.

Overindulging in sugar consumption poses a serious risk to our health and has numerous negative effects on our systems, yet we continue to consume it without realizing the damage it can cause.

My friend is one of those people who cannot enjoy a meal without having a refreshing drink. He usually drinks two bottles of chilled Coca-Cola in a day, not thinking twice about the possible repercussions because he is having fun.

He called me one fateful day complaining that he couldn't sleep the previous night, so I hurried to call other friends so that we could go check on him. When we arrived at his house, he was rolling around on the floor, complaining of abdominal discomfort, so we rushed him to the hospital.

When we got to the hospital, they ran some tests on him and performed a scan to see what was wrong. Based on the test results, the doctor said that his blood sugar level was too high and that diabetes could develop if care was not taken. We all took a hard look at ourselves because we already knew the cause of his problem, "too much sugar is bad for your health" said the doctor. The doctor treated him, and the next day, we left the hospital

He adhered to the doctor's instructions for a few months, but then he returned to it. It seemed as though he was addicted to soda. At this point, we all abandoned him to his suffering when he began to complain bitterly about leg pain; not only did no one look at him once, but even his mother ignored him because he loved to do things his way. Most people had complained about his bad habit of drinking a lot of soda every day, but he would never listen to anyone.

He currently faces the possibility of losing one of his legs due to complications from an excess of sugar in his body according to what the doctor said. Now he had learned his lesson in a hard way. It is not good for our health to drink too much soda.

According to research, here are some of the side effects of taking too much soda drinks which can lead to 
* Obesity:- is a health risk caused by abnormal or excessive body fat accumulation.

* Type 2 diabetes:- is a chronic condition that disrupts the body's ability to process sugar in the blood

* Weight gain:- it is an increase in body weight

* Fatty liver disease:- This means there is extra fat in the liver and it can be caused by too much sugar in your body system

* An increased risk of heart disease and cancer.

This soda called soft drink is killing people and not helping, people tend to be enjoying themselves when it is working against their body system, too much of it is unhealthy for our body.
