This poem brings out the funny aspect in information reception. With the anxiety to capture all the speaker says, the listener seems to make his ears as wide as a wall. In stanza three, there is that irony that the ear does not reject secrets even the info that the tale bearers brand 'secret'. The ear is always disposed and ready to receive information no matter the type. One cannot stop the ear. The ear has no selection. Nothing can stop the ear from hearing. The last stanza says the ear is a magnet and magnets any sound that comes by.
