<p>Awaiting for the details of the offer, I felt in my heart that we were not going anywhere. &nbsp;Quinn’s vision was too potent, too real, too exciting, too revolutionary to not come into being. &nbsp;The deliciousness of it all was already tangible, and we imagined it all so clearly--how could it not be?</p>
<p><br>
The bid on the house came in ridiculously low--of course! &nbsp;&nbsp;We were not surprised! &nbsp;I had already decided that if the offering was not to my liking (which I felt and hoped would be the case), I would take the house off the market and we would embark on building our dream life here. &nbsp;With all the excitement and clarity infused into Quinn’s vision already, we knew our feelings about it would manifest somehow. &nbsp;There was no doubt we would build it--and we knew the people would come.</p>

<p>We cuddled up together on my bed with the phone. &nbsp;With overflowing excitement we called his cousin who he just knew would be excited about it. &nbsp;We called one of his friends in New England.to join us too. &nbsp;We called 3-4 others and described what Quinn had seen, and invited them to be a part of it.</p>
<p><br>
We already have the land--and a home--and a garden we are already expanding. &nbsp;We’ll get tree companies, farmers’ markets, the golf course, breweries, coffee shops, other local businesses and people in the neighborhoods to contribute their mulch, food and brewing waste, leaves and yard trimmings to make more compost. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>We’ll nurture and cultivate the land to produce more food than we can possibly eat and share it with others. &nbsp;</p>

<p>We’ll get tires, bottles, lumber, barrels, doors, windows and the like that others no longer want, and we’ll use them for building raised beds and other sustainable projects--and we’ll teach others how to do it too.</p>

<p>None of us will have to spend our time doing things only for money. No alarms, no traffic, no boss, no office--no jobs! &nbsp;We’ll eat healthy food from the garden that we plant, nurture, prepare and/or preserve ourselves. &nbsp;</p>

<p>We’ll get our bodies strong by building our own life with fresh air and sunshine and our feet in the soil. &nbsp;</p>

<p>We’ll all bring our gifts, talents and passions to the table and contribute our time in service to each other and the greater community. &nbsp;Together we’ll have all of our needs met (and more) so no one will have to do it all alone! &nbsp;</p>

What an incredible life we will build with all of our time as our own. &nbsp;No more slaving away for a retirement account someday, when we may be too old to enjoy it. &nbsp;We will live for today, taking action to create the life of our dreams all day log with the people we love the most. &nbsp;Putting together a bunch of capable, inspired, action-taking adults who infuse their energy into common goals will be remarkable. &nbsp;We’ll build a life however we want it to be. &nbsp;We are in charge of our own happiness!!</p>

Even though there were a bazillion things to talk about in beginning our newly inspired life, we curled up together and laid in silence. I felt a calm come over me with the warmth of Quinn’s every breath on my neck.</p>

<em>Even the closest of our friends couldn’t feel the magic. &nbsp;Obviously stating they had to go to work on Monday showed they had no idea what Quinn was really talking about. &nbsp;Quinn was offering them a whole new world--a sustainable life based on freedom. &nbsp;But they had already invested in following the path toward the American Dream--they couldn’t fathom giving up on that now even for a vision that inspired them! &nbsp;</em></p>
<p><br>
<em>I had a semi-nontraditional upbringing. &nbsp;Though I went to public school, I was not attached to the next step on my way to retirement, and I was not a slave to a paycheck. &nbsp;Though I was much older than Quinn, I still wanted to live a life of passion and to make a difference in the world. &nbsp;I didn’t want to get to old age doing only what I was expected to do, regret that I just played it safe, or that I followed the common path that was laid out before me by others who were intent on keeping the status quo.&nbsp;</em></p>

<em>I wanted to truly live!&nbsp;</em></h2>

<em>I wanted to give myself a chance at a whole new world--something I’d never seen before, a life &nbsp;that would not only help me, but help others. &nbsp;&nbsp;I gave up &nbsp;my ideas of what I was supposed to do, and instead followed my heart. &nbsp;I didn’t really know the full magnitude of possibility that Quinn was offering either, but I could feel that there was something undeniably intriguing and inspiring that I could not deny. &nbsp;I trusted my intuition and the power of Quinn’s vision, and moved in the direction of my soul’s purpose.</em></p>
