Fast black and white image

Experienced photographers are almost always shoot in RAW and a black and white image is obtained by processing in the editor in various ways. But in most cameras there is such a function, with which you can immediately make black and white pictures. This can only be done by shooting in JPEG. The camera uses its built-in processor to process the photo, applying various settings and filters.

Getting such a way of black and white images someone seems unprofessional, but it has the right to exist and in this way there is some aesthetics. For example, remove only JPEG in b/w mode you will never get a color image, you will have only one black and white version. This is similar to the process of shooting on black and white film. You can apply any filter: red, yellow, green, blue, you can adjust the contrast and sharpness to taste. On this all the pluses end and I have long since do not shoot in JPEG, discovering the RAW.

But still, I used to shoot like that and now I will show pictures taken in this way. Everywhere, a red filter and strong contrast was applied. No further processing was performed. This method is suitable for those who want to get a contrasting black and white image at once and who do not have time for processing (for example, reporters).

Absolutely stunning photography. I've sometimes found black and white photos, especially inter scenes to have that "flat"  one-dimensional look. But yours have a lovely depth that them. I almost want to explore and touch the snow, feel it'coldness, and leave my footprints there, hearing that crunch as my boots sink into it. 😀

Great photos. I think RAW is becoming a meme, just like some people always moan about ISO and film size "It's too grainy, you should have used iso 25 on 4x5, not 400 on 135!" 🤣
Every medium has its correct application.

the series is indeed fantastic but i don't like any intervention of any digital procession builtin to any camera when i shoot. this kind of light "photoshop" can't safe the quality of the results and for sure do damage the files - you can find this damage during prints if you will want to do something with these files later. if you shoot for the only web or small size prints its really ok but still feels like some kind of cheating for me (I do not respect my smartphone taken images because of the same reason) - again i love this series in terms of compositions, shadowplay and harsh light - great storytelling
