The village of Threshold

Separately, I want to briefly talk about the village of Threshold (Porog in rus.), which is located on the bank of the Sukhona River in a place called Opoki, where there are high banks and the river makes a sharp turn. People live just in the place, similar to the cape.

The village is ancient, but people in it still live and are engaged in business. Because the place is famous for the Vologda region and tourists here are many throughout the year. And this means that there are guest houses, cafes, pavilions, and a boat station where, at the request of a small amount, they will take you away and bring you anywhere - at least to the fountain, even to the waterfall, even to the confluence of Strelna with Sukhona rivers!

There are about twenty houses in the village and only a few of them are abandoned.

It's nice to wake up in the morning with a view of the "puff cake"!

Actually, the "puff cake" itself is a rocky shore on the Sukhona River. In this place, the river makes a sharp turn. Therefore, the banks so skewed.

From the asphalt road - the Sukhona tract - to the village of Threshold only three kilometers on good gravel. In the village itself, roads are also acceptable. In some places, you can drive directly to the water. I passed freely on an ordinary car.

The infrastructure is more or less developed, the mobile network catches well, there is not only a store. But it is in the village in 10 kilometers.
So come, put a tent on the beach and relax with beautiful views!
