# Today I wanna share a thought experiment, that I know all of you have done sometime. It is to try to figure out how much your account will be worth in a year from now. It is not really predictable due to many unknown circumstances, but you can make a good guess...

### Let's say You have 20,000 STEEM powered up. With the current price of STEEM being 1.30$, your account value is 26,000$. That should roughly give you an upvote of around 3.00$.
 
### Now you only vote 10 times a day at 100% VP and let it generate up to 100% (until the next day, it will be 100% again after 24 hours).

### You would be able to give out roughly 30.00$ per day.

### Now let's say you are a selfish idiot (I know you are not) and only upvote your own content.

### That's 30$ per day to yourself JUST BY SELFUPVOTING

### 7 days* 30.00$ = 210.00$ per week

### 210.00$* 52 weeks = 10,920$ per year

### After one year you have at least 36,920$. Let's calculate in a decent amount of curation rewards and author rewards, too. Let's say 40% on top of your annual increase. 

### Your account is now worth 41,288$. That's a ROI of 58,8%, if the price of STEEM is still at 1.30$.

### But wait: What if the price of STEEM doubled in one year? Now you have 82,576$ after one year and a ROI of 217%.

### I think the opportunity we have with the STEEMIT should be clear now...

### I see the price of STEEM at 5$ or more in the coming 2-3 years. Could be a lot more depending on the number of new accounts and minnows buying some STEEM to get bigger faster.

### In the above example the account would be worth 165,000+$... 

### I deliberately underestimated the amount of the curation and author rewards, because this will be different for everybody. Good authors can easily make 3-20 times more money with their content than with their own votes... This whole calculation is just a rough estimate to show the potential. The real potential can be much bigger or a little lower. 

## You can exchange those numbers for your own ones and multiply the account worth in the end by 0,75 if you don't just do selfupvoting... because nobody should do that, and to be honest I have never found anybody who just selfupvotes...
