Native orchids - Serapias
<center>This is the very first ever native orchid I saw in my life. And I didn't even expect it to see it. I was searching the web to see what possibly could grow in Portugal, dreaming that one day I will find them. 
This one I saw when we stopped the car on the side of the road for a few minutes.</center>

<center>It is still not fully open so I cant ID it properly. It could be either way **Serapias strictiflora** or **Serapias cordigera subsp. cordigera**. More likely the second one as it shows the flowers in a cluster on top of the stem. Boy, how I wish I could see it full bloom!
Later when we stopped in the same spot they were already gone.</center>

<center>They are not very big and until the show the flower they are hard to spot from among the grasses they like to grow. They seem to like a bit shaded area, among trees and grasses. Blooming season is right now until about mid June.
I still have a chance to see it fully open :p</center>

oh! you are such an enlightened user of the Nature

my story in a nutshell: there is one orchid specie, in a swampy grounds where my country house is located. I see it pretty often, very noticeable in bloom. 2 years ago I dug out 2 editions and transferred them safily to my place. last summer they were feeling pretty well. now I can easily take the pics  (but if only I come to my country house in a right time... which is... meh.... the hardest part).  will find a proofpic someday..
