You might recognize the title of this post... It's the title of a book by a man named Charles Eisenstein.
The book outlines what he calls "The New Story of the People".
A story of interbeing... one of interconnectivity instead of separation.
**We are entering a new age.**
Thus far, we have existed in isolation. We have lived in a world where humans are separate from the rest of creation... A realm of being where we are each treated as our own separate entities.
If you dive deep into yourself, you know the truth... This way of living just isn't true. It isn't fulfilling.
Why? Because you are not alone. You are an interconnected part of all that exists. You are a meaningful and impactful being of creation and change... A force for good in this universe.
**We are all of us connected.**
We are all of us one being... One whole.
If you dive into philosophies from all over the world, you find this belief system everywhere... It is in Ancient Greek philosophy in Plato's "realm of the spheres"... it is in Hinduism. It is even in Christianity when Christ tells us to treat others as we would like to be treated.
Why? Because others ARE YOU living a different life.
Because we are all one... We all come from the same source. The same greater "whole".
Blockchain technology is bringing this interbeing into reality.
We think of blockchain as a revolutionary technology with potential to disrupt various industries. Although this is true, there is much more to the equation. Indeed, blockchain is essentially our collective mind being transmuted onto a shared network... A shared platform judged and determined by consensus protocols that are overseen by other versions of ourselves, all tapped into the same network.
This is done independent of banking systems or any system that provides oversights we traditionally have utilized for a more crude version of what I'm describing here...
Previously, we required oversight. Our systems depended on the authority of others... On the authority of some faceless system that we had elected to serve as an officiator.
With the power of technology, we can now eliminate that officiator and serve as a self-regulating hivemind.
**A collective whole.**
Our entire history as a species, a collective mind has existed beneath our awareness. With the power of blockchain, that collective can emerge and come to the surface... We are just now seeing the early births of this process. Cryptocurrency is just the beginning of what we will achieve through the power of blockchain technologies and the systems we will invent to improve an already secure network.
Can you imagine how much more secure this system will be with another ten years of innovation?
Can you begin to fathom what will happen when the next generation of entrepreneurs enters the scene??
Kids who are born after blockchain technology will find creative ways to improve the system we cannot even begin to understand or predict.
That is when the real quickening will happen... When the real collective mind will emerge.
A living hivemind of nodes unlike anything we could comprehend today.
How does this relate to our new story of the people?
Well, for starters, it will become obvious how interconnected we all really are with one another. In today's world, it is easy to forget that other people are just different versions of you living another life.
Once the consensus protocols are established and operating smoothly, an integral part of life, it will just become more obvious. Once the collective mind is operating in a way unlike what we know today, it will just become more apparent.
Suddenly, we will start to feel a deeper connection with those around us...
The longing in our hearts we know as normal might start to fade away. We will begin to understand the potential.
Blockchain is so much more than a revolutionary technology.
**It is a coming home.**
