I remember my first buy like it was yesterday. 1 BTC for 200 euro somewhere in 2013. It went up to €250 in two days. 

When that thing went up to 250 I was ecstatic. My income at the time was awefull so 25% profit was huge.

I still have that 1 BTC but in the years since that buy, I have learned so much about the space.

Luckily my business has picked up and I make a decent living from it now. Therefor it’s easier for me to hold coins I believe in. I don’t need the money straight away.

# Coping with fluctuations
There is one thing in crypto trading that I needed to learn to coop with though. Fluctuations.

It’s hard to explain but when I first started trading fluctuations in the price would phase me a lot.

OMG €20 in the plus! Yes!! Awesome!! I should have bought more!!

And then the same day….

OOO NOOOO €40 in the minus! I will lose it all!! Do I sell?!

It’s hard to stick with a coin when you just start out in crypto. Especially in volatile markets. 

All the time you feel like you going to lose it all.

# Wild Swings

I have not only invested in Steem. I do hold other coins. And I use this brilliant app called Blockfolio to keep track of all my investments.

At any time, you can refresh the app and it will get all the recent prices for your holdings. It is addicting. Bianca told me to stop doing it so much. It’s offending. And she’s right.

But anyway..

Now I’m looking at fluctuations in the hundreds. Ow, I just gained €400! Yes! And one hour later another refresh…O I just lost €500. Shit…

I’m slowly getting used to this but is just as hard as getting used to 10 dollar swings. 

And if Steem keeps doing these swings I'm looking at thousands euro swings to cope with in the future.

# Just imagine Steem is 10 dollars. I need to prepare my nerves.

Let’s  say Steem is 10 dollars in 2025 and you have 10000 STEEM . If the volatility is still there it can easily be 8 dollars one day and 12 dollars the next. 

But now we are talking about moves in the tens of thousands. Ow, I just lost $20000 because STEEM went down $2. Lol. 

I will need to buy some bigger nerves. Preferable made from Steel.

In this regard I do respect anyone that held their bag of bitcoin from €5 to €1000. It must not have been easy for them.

I do love to dream sometimes. Who knows if we will ever get there I just wanted to write it down because I was thinking about it tonight and it made me laugh. 

Plus if you can’t dream and laugh, what’s the point anyway.

Prepare your nerves people. It might be a wild ride. Either way :)
