Today I met up with fellow blockbrother @bennierex (and my oldest friend Ben) and @kapitein.koek (external Android developer RenΓ©). -----  ----- When I arrived at Ben's house they were already deep inside their code. @kapitein.koek had an alpha version of Steemify running on his Android Phone. It was cool to see it 'live' for the first time! Makes it much more real. ---- *On the @blockbrothers blog you can see some screenshots of what the alpha version of Steemify Android currently looks like [here](https://steemit.com/steemdev/@blockbrothers/3-new-screenshots-steemify-android-alpha-version).* ----- We talked a bit about the development and I invited Ben and Rene to my birthday next week. Yup, the big old 34 is coming up. I asked RenΓ© about a possible Beta version release. I got the answer that anyone who isn't a programmer hates :) 'mmm.....It's hard to say.....depends what happens...their still some bugs....' A.k.a - it's done when it's done. And I do understand that. These things can't be rushed. Ben then showed me the work he did on the new version of Steemify iOS and there is some cool new stuff in there (soon to be revealed on the @blockbrothers blog). I left soon after. No point in lingering when you have no more to add and there is work to do. It's all looking good so far! Great news that things are progressing...even if they are still a work in progress. Be careful not to worry about being perfect as that is a trap. Remember a speech from Guy Kawasaki gave back years ago at a Pubcon event in Las Vegas. In the speech he was talking about how Apple learned to put out products long before they were perfect and things they thought were flaws sometimes became features the users loved. Also that their users became their testers and they just had to be ready to fix the issues that became apparent once users started reporting the bugs.

This was probably 15 years ago and actually got to talk with him after with a group of maybe 8-10 of us...I ran with a pretty influential crowd at the time. But I can't remember what he used as examples, but it was talking about the Macintosh computer. There were a couple things they couldn't get to work correctly in the programmers mind, but they released it anyways and people loved what they saw as a flaw. Back then I always thought I could remember everything...now 15 years later I wish I wrote more stuff down. He said this pattern repeated itself over and over. They also felt getting first producer advantage was very important as even if something isn't perfect it's hard to get someone to change their habits. So if someone was already using their product for for 90+ days and then someone else came out with a new product that was better then they still wouldn't be willing to change. This still holds very true and is why apple has so many customers as their products no longer are close to the best in terms of any specs. Every apple friend I have complains about getting tech 6-18 months late, but they are comfortable using apple products and they have everything apple. Very specifically a friend bought a Samsung S8+ and said it was way faster, better photos, better battery life, and overall a better phone. But she sold it because she had everything else apple and it didn't work within all her other products as smoothly. Replaced it with a phone that cost $300 more than what she had and admits the more expensive phone isn't as good, but doesn't care as she is now "stuck" with apple until she can replace everything.
