I have yet to take profit because I'm trying to accumulate sp.  I bought in the 3, 4 and 6 dollar range so once it gets there I will do your method because I'm realizing that taking profit to build is smart.

Always take your profits, that´s almost a golden rule... If you stick to it, whenever the markets go down you wont panic or suffer with it, because you already made some cash, and you can even buy cheaper!

I dont think that it is the right time to take profits yet, because SBD will go along with Steem and can be even more valuable. I need to be REALLY confindent that a significant correction is possible if I take profits to buy back in later.

Recently there seems to be a lot of talk about something called the dust threshold. i haven't come across this before and wanted to ask you about it, Basically it says that if the pay out of a post or comment is below SBD 0.02 the pay-out will be set to zero.

I have been spreading my votes wide in order to give the smaller accounts a bit of a boost. However, apart from the social aspect of doing this it seems that my votes have been, for a large part, pointless in that the recipient won't have been paid anything. In which case, maybe I should place fewer votes of higher value on comments.

So, I'm wondering, is this dust threshold for real?

Those days where steem is less than $1.00 is really good! I missed it actually. It's also the time when people are more interested in reading content than profit.

True, to grow our portfolio substantially, we must take profits gradually and learn to time the market. The secret is to hop off the elevator on one of the floors on the way up and not to exit  when it is going down.

The $3.24 hike was certainly good to grab some profits! Especially if you have many SBD's.

Good thing you can go in that season to steem at 1 dollar. I entered in February 2018 and the price was already a little high. However, I changed my crypto-coins for steem a few days ago. Two days after switching, steem rose by about 50%. I thought it was cool, hehehe.

My plan here is to accumulate lots of sp to always have more voting power and gain more sbd and to be able to help others with upvote. I will only begin to make a profit and turn into fiat money from the middle of next year.

What do you think of my strategy?

exyle, do you have an answer to the question of what mechanism the Steem BlockChain has for the ever-increasing amounts of Data in the BlockChain files?  Scalability / Pruning issue... Any links for us? We are many who wonder. Maybe it is "only" 200 Gigabytes right now, but it will grow and grow and grow, unless some sharding of old posts is built in to the Chain ?!
