It's not enough to live, but to live in the right environment and staying healthy. The environment we live has an impact on the quality of life we live either directly or indirectly. One of the blessing of life is nature but human activities has in one way or the other contributed negatively to this through civilization and urbanisation, distorting the natural ambience. A healthy environment to me is one with good serenity i.e. peaceful & calm. A peaceful environment is a healthy environment and so it is the other way round aswell.

Furthermore, a healthy environment is an environment with less or no pollution (in whatever kind or form. Pollution is a threat to a healthy environment even as it impact on it negatively. Noise pollution, water pollution etc are some of the classics as it concerns pollution. Many natural habitat has been affected badly by pollution and this makes it inhabitable for the dwellers. In addition, a healthy environment is one with good environmental coordination and well mapped out. One of the challenges facing humanity is people doing things the way they like without considering others even if it affects their well-being.

A good living can only be achieved in a good environment which is healthy and habitable. The quality of well-being of individuals is directly related to how healthy their environment is. Take for example, here in my state of residence in Nigeria, there are some mining activities in some part of the state which isn't well coordinated and hence, affected the living standard of the dwellers even as their waters are polluted/contaminated. Infact, the uncoordinated mining activities posses the area to environmental degradation and disaster if not checked.

Many diseases we see today are related to poor unhealthy environment people are living or been exposed to. For example, people living near industrial environment with much effluents, smoke from exhaust can develop pulmonary diseases sooner or later. Therefore, healthy environment directly impacts on human health, well-being and others. One of the advocacy in recent times is that of environmental protection with various countries developing laws in-line with such. There is an urgent need for everyone to be environmentally concious and safeguard our environ making them habitable. 

Personally, one of the ways i keep my environment healthy is to clear the bush in the neighborhood, encourage/participate in the sanitation activities, avoiding pollutions etc. My environment is abit healthy and habitable but i think it can be better even  as concerted effort is needed especially as regards noise pollution from a mall beside my residence especially at night which can be disturbing. A healthy environment is a concerted one with everyone been concious of it and mindful of others aswell so as not to do things that will negatively impact. Our environment is our pride and we need to make it more habitable for all and sundry, i play my part and you play your part.
