Earlier this morning, i listened to a radio program about vocational/technical education restoration in school curriculum because of its numerous opportunities in the nearest future. The seasoned educator made a remarkable statement which was that: ***"Life is for the risk takers and not for the salary earners"*** even as this relates to work and living, this means that risk taking is/can be a stepping stone for the next/higher level in life. One of the greatest fear of humanity is the fear of the unknown which shows the reason why only few people take risks. I once remember during my undergraduate days that a preacher made a statement that really helped me alot till today which is: ***"Take the risk and damn the consequence".***

Earlier this year in the month of February to be precise, i took a risk of quitting my paid job for establishing my own in which i had to employ people aswell. It all started last year and in all truth, i faced some challenges especially securing a suitable location for the organization as my line of business demands visibility and accessibility hereby making me to be choosy about the location. The investment was a major one and capital intensive with guidelines to be adhered to. The major challenge came when where the location i had bargained for and got approval for its usage wasn't forthcoming again.

I had to move on and started searching for another suitable location which all now is the story of the past. I can say that this is a major risk and adventure i took in recent times which all together pays off and i never regretted taking that bold step despite the challenges that occured. I can say that anyone who is not ready to take any risk or to challenge his/her self to something novel or new is not ready for life yet. The more we are open minded to change and take risk by not accepting status quo, the better the tendency for life and living. ***For balance sake, its not everything we risk as there is a thin line between foolishness and taking risk if wisdom isn't applied.*** Take for example, gambling, betting been considered as risk is irresponsibility.

Risk to me is something productive, value adding and worthwhile which one may be forced or determined to do under the guidance of discretion. For me, leaving a good paid job for establishing mine to me is a risk, but it pays off gradually which I'm grateful for till today even amidst the challenges and sacrifices involved. The best of ourselves can be found only outside our comfort  zone and not in our comfort zone. Risk is good if is unto productivity or unto something with a hope of value addition. Though not all risk yieleded the desired results to the degree we want it, however, it is still fine to take risk. Thanks so much for reading even as comments and contributions are welcomed.
