In today's post, I wanted to share a 2.0 version of one of my favorite coffee recipes, Irish coffee. Since I had on hand the necessary ingredients to have a complete experience of flavors and I loved the result. In one of my first publications in this community, the Irish coffee recipe was the one I shared, since I love it so much because it is not something you drink every day and you have to be of legal age to try it (so the barista doesn't go to jail). And since the coffee shops in my city don't serve Irish coffee due to legal issues, I decided to make it at home, and at that time I only used American coffee and whiskey, the measures were 50ml of whiskey and 100ml of coffee. But this one I made was a variant with the few ingredients I had and as the original recipe also has milk or whipped cream, I needed a second chance to try it as the recipe says. And since in the weekly grocery shopping we found a very good quality powdered milk, I decided it was the perfect time to try this recipe as it is and thus improve the one I had tried, besides being able to make a coffee with an incredible flavor and that allows you to go to work without being dizzy haha. So I got to work, and for this recipe, I needed approximately the same measurements: * 100ml of American coffee (without sugar). * 50 ml of whiskey. * Vanilla to taste. * 100 ml of milk. So I put water to boil and after it boiled I added the coffee and lowered the flame to release the coffee flavor completely, something that I found extremely interesting was the [publication](https://hive.blog/hive-152524/@justbabybee/how-can-the-taste-of) of @justbabybee about the exact measures that coffee should have to have a balanced and exquisite flavor, so I tried to follow it and the result was much better than all my previous attempts since the coffee flavor was smooth but pleasant at the same time without being so loaded. While the water was boiling with the coffee, I made the milk in a small cup and as I wanted thick milk I used little water and 4 spoonfuls of powdered milk so that it resembled the cream of milk that Irish coffee has.                 And when it was ready I proceeded to prepare the coffee cup, and added the 50ml of whiskey and a little vanilla essence, it was fun to see how the whiskey and vanilla liquids don't get along and try to fight when they are together in the cup haha. I then poured the brewed coffee into the cup along with the milk and mixed them until it looked a very beautiful beige color as if the blend had been perfect. The taste was also very pleasant to the palate, as the bitter taste of the whiskey was appeased by the milk, and the characteristic smell of whiskey that is woody or rustic was perfectly balanced with the sweet smell of vanilla combined very well. Also, I did not feel dizzy when I tasted this coffee, and even though it has been almost an hour since I drank it, I am still totally conscious of myself and I do not see blurry haha. I liked to repeat this recipe and improve it with some added things, plus it made me remember my first days in this community and it's amazing how fast time goes by, it's been 4 months since I started posting consistently and constantly, and I do feel that I have learned a lot more about coffee or how to talk about places and experiences that include coffee. En la publicacion de hoy queria cmpartir una version 2.0 de una de mis recetas favoritas de cafe, el cafe irlandes. Ya que tenia ala mano los ingredientes necesarios para tener una experiencia completa de sabores y me encanto mucho el resultado.   En una de mis primeras publicaciones en esta comunidad, la receta del cafe irlandes fue la que comparti, ya que me encanta mucho porque no es algo que tomas todos los dias y tienes que tener mayoria de edad para probarla (para que el barista no vaya a la carcel). Y como en las cafeterias de mi ciudad no sirven el cafe irlandes por cuestiones legales, decidi hacerlo en casa y en aquel momento unicamente use cafe americano y whiskey, las medidas fueron 50ml de whiskey y 100ml de cafe. Pero esta que hice era una variante con los pocos ingredientes que tenia y como la receta original lleva tambien leche o crema batida, necesitaba una segunda oportunidad para probarla como dice la receta. Y como en las compras de la comida semanal encontramos una leche en polvo de muy buena calidad, decidi que era el momento perfecto para probar esta receta como es y asi mejorar la que yo habia intentado, ademas de poder hacer un cafe con un sabor increible y que te permita ir al trabajo sin estar mareado jaja. Asi que puse manos a la obra, y para esta receta necesite aproximadamente las mismas medidas: * 100ml de cafe americano (sin azucar). * 50 ml de whiskey. * Vainilla al gusto. * 100ml de leche. Asi que puse a hervir agua y luego que hirvio le añadi el cafe y baje la llama para que se liberara el sabor del cafe completamente, algo que me paricio sumamente interesante fue la [publicacion](https://hive.blog/hive-152524/@justbabybee/how-can-the-taste-of) de @justbabybee sobre las medidas exactas que debe tener el cafe para tener un sabor equilibrado y exquisito, asi que trate de seguirla y el resultado estuvo mucho mejor que todos mis intentos anteriores, ya que el sabor del cafe era suave pero agradable a la vez sin estar tan cargado. Mientras que el agua hervia con el cafe, hice la leche en una pequeña taza y como queria una leche espesa use poca agua y 4 cucharadas de leche en polvo, para que se asemeje mucho a la crema de leche que lleva el cafe irlandes.                 Y cuando estuvo lista procedi a preparar la taza de cafe, y le añadi los 50ml de whiskey y un poco de escencia de vainilla, fue divertido ver como los liquidos del whiskey y la vainilla no se llevan bien y tratan de luchar cuando estan juntos en la taza jaja. Luego verti el cafe colado en la taza junto con la leche y los mezcle hasta que se vio un color veige muy hermoso, como si la mezcla hubiera sido perfecta. El sabor tambien era muy agradable al paladar, ya que el amargo sabor del whiskey era apaciguado por la leche, y el olor caracteristico del whiskey que es amaderado o rustico se vio perfectamente balanceado con el dulce olor de la vainilla que combino muy bien. Ademas no me senti mareado al probar este cafe, y aunque ha pasado casi una hora desde que lo tome aun sigo totalmente concientes de mi y no veo borroso jaja. Me gusto volver a repetir esta receta y mejorarla con algunas cosas añadidas, ademas de que me hizo recordas mis primeros dias en esta comunidad y es increble como pasa el tiempo de rapido, ya han sido 4 meses desde que comence a publicar de manera consistente y constante, y si siento que he aprendido mucho mas sobre cafe o sobre como hablar de los lugares y experiencias que incluyan cafe. I have had Irish coffee, the combination seems perfect to me, as long as the parts are equal. I can't imagine if it was more whiskey than coffee hahaha. I would have a dizzy spell for sure. I liked your recipe, at some point I'm going to try following it. Thanks for sharing it. Regards.
