Quick bit of lightpainting for tonight's 366 project shot and an accompanying image breakdown. As always, if you have any questions about the techniques used then please ask away....there are no secrets here :)

I thought I'd put a bit of effort in this evening and get the lights out and get on the other side of the camera.

I started out doing doubles of me and the trees outside but it wasn't doing it for me, so I stuck on a macro tube and panned a few images on my phone screen. Whilst it looked pretty cool it was one constant stream of light across the frame over my headshot.

I then thought of panning a Hugo B video animation as they always give out tons of structure and texture. I worked out the best way to pan and at which rate and set too.

Pentacon 50mm on tripod 1, beauty dish camera left with 1 x Yongnuo 560iv on 1/4 power @ 24mm. Fired the shutter which in turn fired the flash. I replaced the lens cap, swapped to the Minolta 50mm on the macro tubes and swapped tripods.
Lens cap off and panned the camera whilst the animation played on the screen.

Single long exposure and all that business.
