Lately I've been thinking of changing my lighting setup where previously I've been lugging around heavy flashguns and looking at using continuous lights instead.  My reason for using flashguns and in particular the Godox AD200 is because the amount of light they kick out is useful and can freeze the subject in a lightpainting situation.

So with advances in LED technology, I am finding increasingly hard to ignore the Rotolight Neo 3 RGB light.  They could be very useful for the varieties of photography I shoot.  They haven't been released just yet but I'm sat here waiting impatiently for Rotolight to take my money!

This is a recently rediscovered photoshoot with Chayla East.  I say rediscovered because I couldn't remember where in the hell I'd filed the images!   These photos were created with a friend's Rotolight Neo 2's and at the time I didn't really appreciate how good they were!  I've since changed my mind and think these lights would be more useful not to mention quicker to set up in a difficult lighting situation instead of faffing around repositioning strobes.

We visited an aircraft museum alongside East Midlands Airport in Nottingham.  The site is littered with old and beat up aircraft most of which are military in origin.

Chayla is sat here in the pilot's seat with a Neo 2 light to camera right.  It's not the easiest of locations to light up but I was still learning how to do this stuff at the time!

***Karma***

Possibly out of context with the location, we got creative with the conitinuous lighting and Chayla's karma pose.

This was shot inside an old RAF airliner, a Vickers VC10, where the front section only is still intact.  It's literally a cut in half plane!

Chayla is quite the expert at taking an uncomfortable looking pose and making it look comfortable!  She was literally balanced on the pilot's armrests.

***Lightpainting in a plane***

I don't know many people who could say they've lightpainted on an aeroplane before!  Chayla stood perfectly still while I waved a fibre optic brush around like a madman in the dark!
