Electric Light Donut - kinetic lightpainting on Hive

Having been obsessed with camera rotation photography where the camera is rotated on it's lens axis, I have more recently added another element where the subject is moving as well as the camera. The results can be quite unpredictable and always fun to try out.

**Electric Light Donut**

Last night's faffery in our go to place when it's raining. Combining camera rotation and a Ball of Light tool simultaneously spinning. Or put another way, two fully grown adults stood in the dark counting in time to co-ordinate the spin rate. All shot in one exposure, this is not a Photoshop creation.

**Spinning bokeh**

This is a freehand rotation of a fibre optic brush and shot using a modified Russian Helios 44 vintage lens. The front lens element has been reversed to create this incredible bokeh. Note to self, dig out the Helios!!

**Fifty Shades of Marmite**

I shot this with @fadetoblack in the lime kiln liked the disturbed pose and even more disturbed wavy lines surrounding but I reckon it might be a 'marmite' shot for some of us with symmetrical OCD...

**Spinning Chayla**

This technique of spinning the camera works well with a continuous light source in the studio. Here I shot Chayla with a studio flash to freeze Chayla and replaced the lens cap without ending the exposure. I then switched on the continuous light source and removed the lens cap whilst rotating at the same time to create this trail of light. Tricky to do at first but with practice it's easy enough.
