The right to own a patent is to authorize the exclusion of others from making, using, selling, or importing one’s invention. To own a patent gives one the right to boldly say ‘this is my own’. It is the exclusive right of proprietorship.

A patent may be limited by time and other things but Jesus in love want to lay an exclusive claim of ownership to Christians whom He has redeemed by His own blood shed on the cross for us at Calvary. This is what Apostle Paul meant in verse 14 of the above text by saying that Christ gave Himself to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are eager to do good.

When we come to Jesus Christ, we will receive grace to say no to every act of ungodliness which may be seeking for our attention and thereby affecting our loyalty to Jesus, who has the exclusive right of ownership over our lives. We were redeemed by Jesus through His suffering, death and resurrection. 

We were saved by Jesus Christ from all wicked act like sexual immorality, impurity, idolatry, hatered, selfishness, envy, and so on that produce sinful nature according to Galatians 5:19-21.

[19] Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these ; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, [20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, [21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

According to Galatians 5:22-23, Jesus Christ purify us to produce fruits of the spirit such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and so on.

[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, [23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Everyone that have been redeemed and made pure by God has be given the ability to say no to ungodliness and worldly passions. We should live our lives li a Christian who are eager to do good in this corrupt world.

To live right means doing the right thing.
Does God see you as His child? You need to say no to every form of ungodliness today. I pray that God will purify and redeem us all from all acts of wickedness.
