Everyone loves social media, especially for promoting our ideas, brands, and businesses. It’s the perfect meeting ground for companies and individuals to mesh together and share products, services, thoughts, and ideas. Having great tools to create images for social media seems like it would be important, then…

However, many of us are guilty of using less than awesome images and graphics in some of our posts – I know I’ve done it on numerous occasions in the past! Some of my graphics SUCKED until I got my hands on these fun little tools.

Now, my images are for the most part, top-notch and on point! (Debatable, but don’t judge me 😉 )

Check out these 5 tools to create images for social media that’ll rock the socks off of your audience and “WOW” even the pickiest of the bunch!

<h2>#1: <a href="http://pablo.buffer.com/">Pablo by Buffer</a></h2>

It’s your good old buddy, Pablo (not Mr. Escobar!), to the rescue, with his sleek collection of stock images and easy-to-use graphics tools!

Add text, overlays, and more with this free tool by Buffer. I’ve used it for some time now and I have to say it’s come handy on numerous occasions – especially for a site I built, StartingAGarden.com.

I used it to create the graphics for every single blog post thumbnail on there, but it works just as well for social media, especially in combination with Buffer’s social media scheduling software!

Pablo is definitely one of the more noteworthy tools to create images for social media, in my opinion. 

 

<h2>#2: <a href="http://infogr.am/">Infogr.am</a></h2>

I’m sure at some point, you’ve needed or wanted to create a graph or chart to show off your smarts and display data in a logical, clean format.

Look no further, because Infogr.am has you covered (for FREE!) Simply create a free account on their website and you’re off to the races.

You can create charts, infographics, interactive maps and more with their software. It’s easy, quick, and the results are fantastic.

So the next time you need to show off some data while looking damn good, look to Infogr.am to get the job done and save time!

There have been numerous occasions where I’ve created a great looking graphic for social media, uploaded it, and then banged my head against the wall when I realized that IT’S. THE. WRONG. SIZE!

Next time you’re about to upload an image to social media, be sure to visit this site to find out if your image is the proper size – there’s nothing worse than creating a beautiful graphic and half of it gets cut off in the thumbnail when you post it!

Have you ever wanted to have your website displayed in a cool stock photo, i.e. on a phone screen or computer screen?

Well, now you can for FREE! Placeit lets you upload a picture of your website (or any picture, for that matter) into over 2500 different “mock-up” screens.

Choose your photo, select your mockup, upload, and VOILA! You’ve created your first mockup. Congrats! Not sure what a mockup is? Just view my portfolio and take a look at the images – those are mockups 😉

Placeit is definitely a wonderful option for creating free mockups. I’ve used it in the past and I highly recommend it to everyone looking to create images of the same sort! Add this to your list of tools to create images for social media and use it!

 

<h2>#5: Windows Snipping Tool</h2>

When in doubt, there’s always the good old Snipping Tool from Windows. Never heard of it?

It’s built in to Windows (from 7-10), and is an absolutely brilliant tool to use. I literally use it at least 10+ times a day myself.

Simply go to your search bar and type in “snipping tool” – it’ll bring up a little window that allows you to crop anywhere you wish on your screen. It’s incredibly nifty!

This will allow you to pull up any image you like and create a “snip” of it, or screen grab anything that you wish on your screen – from ANY website, even if they won’t let you download an image. It’s a lifesaver!
