 It was just over two weeks ago that I announced that I would stop using Likwid and start receiving all of my payouts as a 50/50 split between Steem and Steem Power and that decision seems to be paying off. Even though crypto prices haven't been looking so great the past couple days, I'm still really glad that I made that decision. At the time of this writing I'm up to nearly 150 SP and within a week I should have over 200 SP. My decision has been a good one for a couple reasons. The first is that it acts as a savings account in a way. Unless something gets changed, it would take a full 13 weeks to power down my SP. At some point in the future I will power down probably once Steem gets to be at least $1 each. While I love having SP... having money is always nice too lol. The second is that it helps me pay it forward. This past week has been one of the best weeks for me on here in a long time. By next week, I'll have a lot more SP coming to me at least compared to what I'm used to getting. This is all thanks to the incredible people @TeamOCD. With their support of my content, it's allowing me to help newer, lesser known, talented content creators out in hopefully trying to make a living on this platform. When I didn't have much SP, my upvotes didn't mean much. Now that I'm starting to gather more and more SP, I'm starting to notice that my upvotes are starting to have a bigger impact. I know that the amount of SP that I have is nothing compared to many others on this platform, but it means a lot to me. I remember just yesterday I'd upvoted an article that I enjoyed and the creator's earnings went up by roughly $0.70. It could have simply been because someone else had also upvoted, but it made me feel really good. Rather they realize it or not, the bigger curators here are helping pave the new way for up and coming curators like myself. Lately when I'm not writing articles, I've been browsing through articles on here and helping in a small way to curate good content. Even if I wasn't getting a little SP back from doing it, I still really enjoy helping out good content creators on this platform. This platform is a community in every sense of the word. If we help out those who most deserve it most then it helps the platform and everyone else involved in it. It helps us all grow stronger together.
