Why Bitcoin Isn't My Favorite Crypto

Bitcoin has been around for over ten years at this point. It was the first crypto ever created and every crypto to date has forked off of it's code. Early on in it's life, Bitcoin was fairly unknown. These days, even the mainstream media knows what Bitcoin is. It's the most valuable crypto by far, but it's not my favorite... not by a long shot.

Bitcoin was created with the idea of being a peer-to-peer digital currency for everyday purchases which leads me to the two main reasons that I don't like it.

It costs a lot to send Bitcoin compared to other cryptos like Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash. Those cryptos can typically be sent for less than a cent for everyday purchases. I love using Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash for things like shopping online. They're not natively supported nearly as much as Bitcoin though simply due to Bitcoin's popularity.

The second reason why I don't like it as much as others is because it typically takes a bit longer to send it than others. Granted, there's cryptos out there with worse transaction times, but Bitcoin's isn't nearly as great as it should be. How can it be an everyday kind of digital currency when it costs a lot to send it and it's slower compared to others that, in my opinion, are better than Bitcoin for Bitcoin's original purpose?

It just doesn't make sense to me.

Bitcoin is certainly great in the fact that it's revolutionized how people can send and receive money online to friends, to family, and for online purchases. It's a better store of value than many other cryptos, but just because something came first doesn't mean that it's the best.

Those with money learn about Bitcoin first before any crypto. They look how it has 1000x, and they buy into it. They probably leave it on an exchange and if and when the exchange steals their bitcoin, they will leave with the attitude of it being "insecure." (sigh)
