## The most known social network changed its policies for advertising on its platform. Will this affect Bitcoin?

*Short answer*: no, **this won't affect Bitcoin** since it's the one and only **cryptocurrency that doesn't need advertising on a social network**.

I'm not  a huge fan of Facebook, but I think this could be a good move. What Facebook is trying to do with [these new policies](https://www.facebook.com/business/news/new-ads-policy-improving-integrity-and-security-of-financial-product-and-services-ads) is, basically, to protect its users from **deceptive advertising**.

### Yes, I said **deceptive advertising**!
Let's face the truth: most of the cryptocurrency-related ads on Facebook promoted scams like *cloud mining* websites and Ponzi schemes.
Now, let's imagine a Facebook user that discovers Bitcoin thanks to a Facebook ad promoting a new *way to make money with cryptocurrencies*. He doesn't know how Bitcoin works, nor he can tell the diffrence between a legit business and a Ponzi scheme. He is certainly going to lose his money and, eventually, reach the conclusion that **Bitcoin itself is a scam**.

### ICOs are scams, you won't make money with *binary options* and shouldn't invest your pension funds into cryptocurrencies!

Simply don't start binary option trading! That's not real trading: you are basically betting on the action of the price of an asset within a very short timeframe (from a few seconds to a few hours), and it's impossible to make any decet prediction. Just **avoid it!**.

> "Learn more about our no-risk cryptocurrency..."

*No-risk* and *cryptocurrency* simply cannot coexist in the same sentence. There's nothing like a *risk-free* investment!

> "New ICO..."

As I already said, ICOs (well, most of them) are scam. Always know what you are buying with your money, **read the whitepaper** and ask yourself *"Does this need a blockchain?*. It the answer is *"No"*, then do not invest!

> "Use your retirement funds to buy Bitcoin"

**NO, DON'T USE YOUR RETIREMENT FUNDS**, keep them in a safe place (for example, under your bed). **Buy Bitcoin only with money you can afford to lose** (quit smoking and use money you saved to buy Bitcoin every week or month).

Bitcoin doesn't need advertising like this. Bitcoin doesn't need advertising at all! It's up to us, as HODLers, to spread the word about our *favorite cryptocurrency*, but this cannot be done through Facebook ads!
