<p>Hi community, Great to meet you!</p>
<p>I am actually not one of those fan-boys that scream loudly when a new technology arrives. I'm also not a big social media fan. I was lucky I gained some reddit karma to sign-up here, I also more or less quit facebook, so I did not want to sign up with that account here. </p>

So how did I end up here?
Well, I'm studying business information systems and needed a topic for my master thesis. 

I heard of Bitcoin before and was quite aware of how it works, but I didn't spend much interest in it. Actually my thesis should have been about finntechs, but somehow I stumbled accross the Blockchain 2.0. a.k.a. Ethereum and was more than amazed by the ideas and applications people have with it. That's also my topic now: Perspectives and challenges of smart contracts based on blockchain technology.

In a few weeks I guess I will have some stuff to present, so stay tuned ;)

This led me to steemit, and I'm really amazed by the idea. I'm still confused how steemit can work in an economical sense, but apparently it works so far, which is amazing!
I love that the users fully decide what the top topics will be and have full control over the system. I know what anti-facebook looks like now.

Anyways, great to be a part of this community, I cannot wait to see where this idea will lead us to. But I'm certain it will be a very interesting and exciting journey!
