## Dear brothers and sisters in Christ

*May the peace of Christ reign in your hearts.*

Today the words of Jesus reflected in the verse (Matthew 6:22) speak to me about the health of my senses, in particular of my eyes. By having the joy of being able to read and scrutinize the Holy Scriptures, I can have the ability for the Holy Spirit to illuminate my conscience, giving me an understanding of the meaning of what the word of God means for my life.

When referring to visual health, it summarizes what our senses must be prepared to receive the healing and comfort that God the merciful Father desires for each one of us. By humbly approaching the Lord, he heals us of our wounds and frees us from the yoke of sin, bringing peace and love to our lives.

This peace surpasses any of the goods that we can achieve through our work and our efforts. ([Philippians 4:7](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Philippians%204%3A7&version=NIV))

Thus, by being followers of Christ, we must reflect in our life his goodness and love for men, so that our testimony is the lamp that illuminates the lives of others, in particular those most in need of the word of God, so that the darkness of bad works and sadness are replaced by the hope of a new life in Christ Jesus.
