Huitzilopochtli calls ! 
For this review, I'm playing Montezuma.
Aztecs have eagle warriors, who can capture enemy troops and convert them to builders.
I'm planning on not upgrading my eagle warriors, so I can capture troops in later stages of the game.

A unique ability is, that my builders can boost the construction of a district.

I started with 
- standard size map
- difficulty: king
- continents
- domination and score victory

I liked the starting position:

A new feature is the eureka and inspiration events, which grant you a boost in science or civic:

If you plan it well, you can get a significant advantage over the AI.

I managed to fight of the Romans, who decided to attack me.
I captured some of their warriors as builders and declared a surprise war on Arabia, when they left a settler unprotected.
Also I keep leveling my troops, by fighting of the barbarians.
Note: _You can't capture them as builders_

I have 3 cities now - I used the captured settler to build Xochicalco. _(Xochi)_ and then declared peace again.
My cities have two lakes in their territory, so I will try to build that special Aztec lake wonder.

I lost the race for the first prophet and I will have to try and get the second one, so I can fund a religion.

I plan for a time of peace, as I'm trying to build up the districts.
The next part will contain more details about _districts_ and _envoys_.

I also need two more cities, because I don't have access to an ocean yet and I need to build one on the lower lake, still.

I still enjoy the game:

- It has nice music, too
- I did not encounter any bugs or crashes
- it seems balanced and the maps seem to be well adjusted to your civ

It lacks a good statistics tab, but maybe that gets revealed with espionage later.

As a fan of the original civ games, I'm still sceptical towards it.
It will not recreate the epic feeling of the older parts, but it's still a good game.

I find it much better than part V.

I will keep playing and writing about it :)
