What if I set @null as beneficiary ...

Since Hardfork 18 you can set other steem accounts as _beneficiaries_ for your posts.

This is not featured by the Steemit GUI, but you can use tools like this:

I was wondering, what would happen, if I set @null as the only beneficiary ...

As far as I understand, the payout will be burned.

The difference to a _declined payout_-post would be, **that curators still get their curation rewards**.

I have seen some _declined payout_-posts perform really bad and I assume, that's because voters don't want to miss out on their curation rewards ...

This would also be a solution, when @steemitblog forgets to decline the payout again :P
