XCOM 2 was published early this year.
I have played UFO: Enemy Unknown in the 90's.

I also tried XCOM Enemy Unknown and I enjoyed it, but it was nowhere near the classic UFO game.

The UFO series is a _tactical RPG_, combined with _economy-simulation_ features.

So far I have played the first missions and I really like it.

I was a bit confused at first, because in the first part you are defending Earth from alien invaders.
In XCOM2, Earth is already invaded and the _Elders_ have taken over.

So apparently I am a commander of the resistance now.
And everybody seems to know me, already (including my enemies).

In the very first (tutorial) mission, you have to free yourself from a stasis tank and have your crew remove some implant from your skull.

The cutscenes look fantastic and the gameplay feels smooth.

Instead of an underground base like in UFO, the mission control center is now a spaceship.
It was salvaged from the aliens and I can expand my facilities in it.

### I'm somewhat impressed with the game.
The only drawback could be the customization possibilities.
The game comes with a character generator, but I can not decide for name or nationality myself - instead it's just a randomly generated character each time.

Compared to the original, XCOM 2 doesn't allow for the same freedom of choices (and wrong choices) but so far guided me through the missions pretty linearly.
I hope to get more choices as I progress in the game.

While XCOM Enemy Unknown was an ok game, XCOM2 generates a good atmosphere.

I just want to get back to playing :D

## This game is fun so far

For the introduction and first two missions, I would give it a 92 % rating.
The cutscenes, sound, music, graphics and general atmosphere are awesome.

I will test it some more and then write a more detailed review.
