**Team Composition:** 
ctrl+alt+elite, is an ambitious team of first-year college students from DTU (Delhi Technological University). As newcomers to the scene, we bring youthful energy, a thirst for knowledge, and a determination to succeed. With our diverse skill sets and unwavering enthusiasm, we took on challenges at IEEE DTU's hackathon Vihaan007 and managed to make it through the first round through hundreds of applications. Our team was made up of:
* **Ananya mangal:** Our design and frontend mind with exceptional presenting skills.
* **Kanak Maheshwari:** Project manager who guided the team be it assigning tasks, monitoring submissions or taking up work like frontend design or presenting it to the judges.
* **Arnav Singh:** our backend wizard with commendable skills for blockchain and hive.
* **Atiyab Ahmad:** mainly just kept the team motivated and helped out with frontend design, blockchain or debugging codes.

**How we came to know about hive:** While deciding on our problem statement and project idea we delve deep into blockchain concepts and looked up on various innovative technologies, hive being one of them, since they were the title sponsor. Even though we didn't make use of the application of hive in our project, this made us more intrigued to read up more about hive blockchain and cryptocurrency network and all the robust and innovative ecosystem of tools it had to offer.

**Project Overview and how we aim to impact the society:** 
Our team worked on creating a check mechanism on purchases made on online platform to ensure authenticity of products that are made by genuine manufacturers and to filter out the counterfeit ones. 

Our project caters to the problem that every manufacturer runs into i.e., their products being plagiarised through copying the barcode and product serial number which we can solve by transferring the ownership of the product everytime someone buys it to able to track the original manufacturer. This is done by allowing the manufacturers to input product details on a dedicated website in collaboration with the online third party vendors, then making the use of blockchain technology to assign a unique token to every product which is transferred on the change of ownership of a product once a transaction is made, this helps in better citing back to the original manufacturer to ensure authenticity.

**Why Counter Check should win:** 
With advancing technologies and digitalisation the manufacturer and retail market are shifting to online means to reach out to a much wider audience. Since industries like sneaker manufacturing and medicine are so lucrative there is a very high chance of them getting exploited and more counterfeit products coming up in the near future. in such a case out platform with the use of integrated blockchain technology will help users spend their hard earned money on genuine and authentic products. this helps both the users and the manufacturers as it saves the average citizen precious money which would've gone to fishy market suppliers who pose as authentic and charge the equivalent amount. It will also help users to get their hands on authentic medicine which can now prevent health hazards and toxicity in citizens caused due to harmful substances present in counterfeit medicine.

On the other hand it now helps the manufacturer industry to scale their product better and prevents the supply of money into the hands of wrong suppliers who may try to forge counterfeit products by trying to copy the barcode and product serial number. This ensures Scalability through collaborations and global accessibility throughout the globe.
