> Hola hola amigos de HIVE que la bendición de Dios siempre esté con nosotros, en esta ocasión compartiré con ustedes la pequeña variedad de especies de cactus que tengo en casa, que si bien son pocos me siento muy orgullosa de tenerlos, verlos crecer y florecer, además de algunos consejos basados en mi experiencia. Inicié en este mundo conjuntamente con las suculentas pero en el caso de los cactus me ha costado un poco más tener gran variedad de especies, ya que, es muy difícil conseguirlos, y aquí en Maturin (Venezuela) no es común conseguir viveros con gran variedad de especies, y cuando consigues los precios son muy elevados dificultando aún más el poder adquirirlos. actualmente tengo cerca de 35 especies diferentes, sin más preambulos acá les doy un paseo por mi grandioso mundo de los cactus...

Son plantas hermosas que aunque no lo crean requieren mucho cuidado y atención sobretodo en sitios donde llueve mucho. El sol es su mejor amigo, deben estar expuestos al sol la mayor cantidad de horas al día posibles, para que su crecimiento sea óptimo, no es recomendable retirarlos del sol aún cuando las temperaturas sean muy altas, tal exposicion durante tanto tiempo y sin la cantidad de agua necesaria podría causarle estrés y cambiar su color natural, pero este "problema" puede ser controlado sin perjudicar o comprometer en lo absoluto la salud de la planta.

Estas plantas también son muy propensas a contraer virus o plagas, la mayoría de ellas por contacto con insectos que miran en su raíz una fuente de alimento. En este caso hay que estar muy atentos, lo primero que hago es visualizar la planta mirar su coloración, tocarlo para saber si mantiene su dureza o firmeza, evaluar su crecimiento, luego remuevo la tierra y le doy un vistazo a la raiz, en busca de pequeños puntos blancos o una especie de pelusa que indica que la está en presencia de plagas. Otro insecto que suele causarles daño son las moscas, cuando depositan sus huevos en las flores de los cactus crean un ambiente ideal para la proliferacion de plagas. los cactus suelen ser aguerridos y van a luchar hasta su último aliento. Pero un buen cuidado puede garantizar una buena salud de la planta, les digo nada más hermoso que un cactus bien cuidado y cuando florece aún mas😍.

Another insect that often causes damage is flies, when they lay their eggs in the cactus flowers they create an ideal environment for pests to proliferate. Cacti are usually feisty and will fight to their last breath. But a good care can guarantee a good health of the plant, I tell you nothing more beautiful than a well cared cactus and when it blooms even more😍.

Si el cactus está infectado por plagas en la raíz lo que hago es contarla hasta donde esté afectada, dejo cicatrizar por 7 días luego la vuelvo a plantar en la maceta con tierra nueva y sin mucha agua durante 7 días más, tendrás un cactus saludable nuevamente, manteniendo los cuidados preventivos.

If the cactus is infected by pests in the root what I do is to count it up to where it is affected, let it heal for 7 days then plant it back in the pot with new soil and without much water for 7 more days, you will have a healthy cactus again, keeping the preventive care.

Otro problema característico de los cactus son los hongos generalmente producidos por la humedad, estos se van devorando la corteza de la planta haciendo aparecer manchas que van desde: un color amarillo (afectación moderada), hasta: negro (ya esa parte del cactus está muerta). Es de vital importancia que los cactus sean cultivados en ambientes secos y con buena captacion de los rayos de sol. Sin embargo, un cactus afectado por un hongo no quiere decir que va morir y lo digo porque cuando no tenía ningún conocimiento acerca de cactus me desanimaba mucho cuando esto ocurría pues pensaba: "Un cactus menos, por mi culpa". Y era difícil recuperarme anímicamente de la que consideraba una perdida, luego mi hermana me dió un tip que cambio todo. Solo debes retirar (cortar) la parte afectada dejar cicatrizar y volver a plantar, con el cuidado adecuado tendrás nuevamente un ejemplar sano y hermoso.

You only have to remove (cut) the affected part, let it heal and plant again, with the proper care you will have a healthy and beautiful specimen again.

El método de reproducción principal de los cactus se basa en los hijos, cuando estas plantas alcanzan un tamaño ideal y las condiciones en las que se encuentra son favorables tienden a tener hijos, estos deben ser separados desde la raíz y luego ser trasplantado en otra maceta para beneficiar la multiplicación de la especie, estos hijos al alcanzar un tamaño ideal tendrán sus hijos y así se multiplican los ejemplares, otra manera de reproducción es la decapitación, es una forma más cruel, pero en términos de acelerar el proceso puede ser más factible. Suena fácil, pero no lo es del todo, porque, algunas especies son más propensas a la multiplicación que otras, debido a distintos factores uno de ellos es el tiempo de crecimiento, algunos cactus tardan años en crecer así habiten en condiciones ambientales ideales son características genéticas de cada planta y por esta razón algunas personas tienden a decapitar estás plantas para obtener de manera un poco más acelerada los anhelados hijos.

Algunas personas pueden pensar que es una tarea ardua y laboriosa mantener y velar por la salud de tantas plantas (que de hecho lo es), pero al final del dia cuando miras tu pequeño vivero lleno de vida, de color, piensas y dices: vale la pena y si eres como yo una madre orgullosa las presumes a todas tus vecinas🤣 es un mundo muy demandante pero a la vez muy hermoso dónde los pequeños detalles marcan la diferencia.

Este fantastico mundo te permite expandir tus horizontes, en mi caso, empecé como cultivadora de unas pocas especies y al día de hoy compro y vendo cactus, a decir verdad es bastante rentable, es una labor de saber promocionar a través de arreglos para días especiales o para decorar oficinas u otros espacios. Solo debes trazar la meta e ir por ella. Nunca es tarde para empezar un emprendimiento, solo debes mirar el objetivo y marcar metas a corto plazo (para que no te desanimes en el camino) y los resultados te llevarán hasta donde deseas llegar.
