Una de las cosas más difíciles para un escritor de deportes, es tener que replantear o desdecirse de artículo publicado; sin embargo, como quiera que le debemos a quienes nos leen una explicación -el respeto por el lector ante todo- queremos comentar lo sucedido con el dominicano Fernando Tatis Jr., quien firmó una extensión de contrato con los Padres de San Diego de ribetes escandalosos.

Es decir, no decimos que Fernando no los merezca, creemos en el talento y si deseas tenerlo en tu equipo, tienes que pagar por ello. Pero aquí es donde comienza a volverse oscuro el panorama. Porque la racionalidad de un equipo al negociar, debe pasar por una conciencia sobre el momentum: este pelotero ni siquiera era elegible ¡para un arbitraje! Apenas podría acceder a ese derecho en la temporada 2022.

Podrían tranquilamente haber esperado al menos que Fernando terminara la temporada 2021 y sentarse a negociar. Para quienes no lo saben, Tatis Jr. tiene apenas [143 juegos](https://www.mlb.com/es/player/fernando-tatis-jr-665487) (menos de una temporada completa) repartidos entre 2019 y 2020, lo que pone uno a pensar en la sensatez de los negociadores del contrato ¿Qué pasaría si el tipo se lesiona gravemente al punto del retiro en 2021?

Todo el mundo sabe que no es sino hasta el 4to. o 5to. año que un pelotero demuestra todo el potencial.

Sin embargo, el cuidado demostrado durante la temporada baja al firmar agentes libres, no lo tuvieron con un pelotero al que podrían haber dejado jugar, que cogiera más turnos, sin arriesgar una gran variable entre lo que fueran a negociar para las temporadas venideras y lo hecho hasta ahora por Fernando. Sabemos que el béisbol son negocios, pero negocios bien hechos.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Con los pitchers de la Nacional más cerca de batear para la temporada venidera -a menos que el sindicato y la oficina del comisionado cambien las señas antes del 1ro. de Abril- todo está listo para que el resto de los rosters de los equipos se presenten al campo de entrenamientos, para mañana viernes 19. Con el lunes como fecha para hacer ejercicios con el equipo completo y el Domingo 28, como el día declarado para la voz de playball en ambas ligas.

La asistencia de público a los estadios de ambas ligas, también será restringida a unas cantidades mucho menores a las acostumbradas. La temporada comenzará en Abril como está previsto.

Tal y como expones en el artículo, un poco arriesgado el dar semejante contrato a un jugador, que si bien, tiene todas las herramientas para ser un estelar por años venideros, puede tener problemas, de lesiones o  personales mas adelante (cuanta proyección no tenia un Eric Davis o un Gooden por ejemplo?) claro esperemos que no sea el caso, por el bien del deporte

Amigo, de antemano quiero decirle "criollamente" *que más claro no canta un gallo*. Realmente lo Padres de San Diego debieron esperar si su rendimiento será el mismo esta temporada, ya que como expones en el artículo  las lesiones siempre están latentes, es de ponerse a pensar el ¿Por qué? de esta decisión, pues "asegurar" no es del todo seguro. Tatti jr, posee las cualidad para ser un pelotero de ese valor, pero ¿podrá mantener el ritmo? en lo personal espero que sí,   sin embargo, esperar esta temporada no era mucho pedir, ya que como expones en uno de los párrafos , Tattis jr estaba comprometido con el equipo hasta 2024, pero bueno, espero que la decisión mantenga la proyección esperada. Disfruto mucho este tipo de análisis, gracias por compartirlos con la comunidad. Saludos.

Gracias a tí por tus amables palabras..!

La verdad, yo también disfruto mucho haciendo éste tipo de artículos; sin embargo, el béisbol no es un deporte que atraiga mucho a la mayoría de los lectores, bien sea porque ha perdido público o porque no les gusta. Ojo...no hablo de Venezuela, donde sé que si se disfruta...hablo de la audiencia global.
