&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;El amor y cariño por mi país se lo debo a mi padre, recuerdo -en especial- un viaje que hicimos los tres hermanos mayores junto con él por tierra, sin nuestra madre, ella había quedado al cuido de los cuatro hermanos menores en casa. La aventura en cuestión, la hicimos por carretera y nos llevó por un periplo: Caracas, San Cristóbal, Mérida, Valera, Barquisimeto y de nuevo Caracas, ciudad donde me crié.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Y fue especial por varias razones: era el primero que hacíamos sin nuestra madre, conocimos familiares que eran inexistentes hasta entonces, la música fue una compañía muy enriquecedora (nuestro padre no escuchaba música convencional o *de moda*) y varias peripecias que cimentaron para siempre en nuestro recuerdo, aquella aventura automovilística. 

> And it was special for several reasons: it was the first time we did it without our mother, we met relatives who didn't exist until then, the music was a very enriching company (our father didn't listen to conventional or *top* music) and several adventures that cemented forever in our memory, that car adventure.

## Venezuela
#
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Una de las fortunas de mi vida, es el baúl de recuerdos que atesoro sobre mis viajes. Y antes de trascender nuestras fronteras, conocí mi patria de *cabo a rabo*, es decir, lo único que falta por conocer es: el Salto Ángel, Los Roques, los estados Apure y Amazonas. Tarea pendiente. Eso no demerita hablar sobre los tres destinos que me han gustado más:

#### Monagas-Sucre
#
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Hay una belleza muy misteriosa en las atracciones turísticas de ambos estados. No sé explicarlo, un aura entre lo tradicional y lo mágico porque estar allí, en las Cuevas del Guácharo, Caripito o el Parque Nacional Mochima lleva al viajero replantearse su relación con lo natural, es salvaje, prístino pero amigable a la vez. A las Cuevas viajé con mi esposa e hijos, pero ya las había conocido viajando solo, Caripito tiene un manto de belleza parecido a lo andino y el Parque Nacional Mochima fue especial por un cardumen de delfines que iba persiguiendo la embarcación que nos transportaba.

> There is a very mysterious beauty in the tourist attractions of both states. I can't explain it, an aura between the traditional and the magical, because being there in Cuevas del Guácharo, Caripito or Mochima National Park makes the traveler rethink his relationship with nature, it's wild, pristine but friendly at the same time. I traveled to The Cave with my wife and children, but I had already met them traveling alone, Caripito has a mantle of beauty similar to the Andean and Mochima National Park was special because of a school of dolphins that chased the boat that was transporting us.

#### Nueva Esparta
#
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Cuando se habla de playas y de diversión en vacaciones, difícilmente puedes sacar de la lista a Nueva Esparta. Una oferta inteligente de turismo ofrece la *perla del Caribe*, como se le conoce a esta isla. He viajado muchas veces allá y éste es el secreto de ese destino: se anda renovando TODO el tiempo, lo que hace que vuelvas obligadamente. Viajé con mi esposa e hijos un par de veces, pero perdí la cuenta de las veces que viajé solo. Principalmente porque era el destino de la mayoría de convenciones de negocios cuando me desempeñaba en *Marketing.* 

> When it comes to beaches and holiday fun, you can hardly take New Sparta off the list. An intelligent tourism "punch" offers the *pearl of the Caribbean* as this island is known. I've travelled here many times and that's the secret of this destination: it's renewing itself ALL the time, which makes you come back for sure. I traveled with my wife and children here a couple of times, but individually, I lost count. Mainly because it was the destination of most business conventions when I was working in Marketing.

#### La Gran Sabana
#
Es un lugar que debes anotar en tu lista de *"conocer antes de morir",* nadie sobre el planeta tierra podría imaginar el ambiente *sobrenatural* que rodea este Parque Nacional. Principalmente porque miras al pasado, al viajar allá observas las rocas más antiguas que emergieron a la superficie desde el océano primigenio. Entras en shock y en un trance que sólo ha sabido explicar nuestro escritor Rómulo Gallegos en su inmortal *"Canaima"*. Y fue esa obra la que nos dio la pauta para entender lo que veíamos conforme ese rincón de nuestra *nave espacial*, mostraba sus paisajes ante nuestros ojos. No se puede comprender la Gran Sabana sin "*Canaima"* y viceversa.

> It's a place you should write down on your "know before you die" list. NOBODY on planet earth could ever imagine the *supernatural* environment surrounding this national park. Mainly because you look at the past, when you travel there you see what may be the oldest rocks that emerged to the surface in the primordial ocean. You go into shock and a trance that only our writer Rómulo Gallegos could explain in his immortal *"Canaima "*. And it was that work that gave me the guideline to understand what I was seeing as that corner of our *spaceship* showed its landscapes before my eyes. You cannot understand the Gran Sabana without "Canaima" and vice versa.
