 **Greetings friends of Hive, today I want to share with you how has been the initial process of repairing the engine of "bee" the hiver car or well that's what my wife @zullyscott calls it. As you know we recently acquired this car and all thanks to Hive, but we have already mentioned that. What I want to share with you today is that when we bought it the former owner told us that the car is due for engine maintenance, as it was leaking oil and was leaking compression.** We have been checking with several mechanics to try to have an idea of the budget we should have and the different options that can be seen to do it as best as possible and thus be able to have the engine of the car in good condition. We are very happy with the car, and it is really very comfortable for the size and everything we have heard is that it is really a very economical car and that the spare parts are available in the market in my country. I told you about a Ford Festiva with automatic transmission from the year 96, and it has a small 4 cylinder engine and this has been an important factor in asking the prices for "doing" the engine as they say here.  In the middle of last week it began to show failures, it was paying for itself and that was when we decided not to postpone this repair any longer. The oil can was such that I put a liter of oil a week to compensate for the loss. But today was the day when the mechanic came to repair it here at home. The mechanic came to us on the recommendation of a friend of my wife. His labor cost us 50$ USD per cylinder, and as I have 4, it adds up to a total of 200$USD, and to this we have to add the spare parts that will be needed. The same mechanic gave us a contact to get some spare parts at affordable prices, and we are calculating an amount between 100 and 150$ USD in spare parts. Adding up to a total of 350$USD. And it has seemed to us a much fairer price than others that we have been told.  We were told that it cost $600 USD and in this case the mechanic bought all the parts but this was an amount that was a little uphill. In fact it is a figure that is considerably close to the price for which we acquired the car. But, already today the repair process has begun, the mechanic today was dedicated to disassemble the engine, and in the week we should get the spare parts. We hope not to take more than two weeks for this open-heart repair. As a personal anecdote, and due to my ignorance in mechanics, I have decided to study and learn everything I can about mechanics and even more in relation to the model and brand of my car. Estamos muy contentos con el carro, y de verdad que es muy cómodo para el tamaño y todo lo que hemos escuchado es que en verdad es un carro muy económico y que las refacciones se consiguen en el mercado de mi país. Les habló de un Ford Festiva de transmisión automatica del año 96, y tiene un motor pequeño de 4 cilindros y esto ha sido un factor importante en el momento de preguntar los precios de , “hacerle” el motor como dicen aquí.  A mediados de la semana pasada comenzó a presentar fallas, se pagaba andando y fue cuando decidimos ya no postergar más esta reparación. El bote de aceite era tal que le colocaba un litro de aceite a la semana para compensar la pérdida . Pero hoy ha sido el día en el cual el mecánico vino a repararlo acá en casa. Mecánico que llegó a nosotros por recomendación de una amiga de mi esposa. Su mano de obra nos la dejo en 50$ USD por cilindro, y como poseé 4, suma un total de 200$USD, y a esto hay que sumarle los repuestos que se vayan a necesitar. Él mismo mecánico nos facilitó un contacto para conseguir algunos repuestos a precios accesibles, y estamos calculando un monto entre 100 y 150$ USD en repuestos. Sumando un total de 350$USD. Y nos ha parecido un precio mucho más justo que otros que nos han comentado.  Nos llegaron a decir que costaba 600$ USD y en este caso el mecánico compraba todos los repuestos pero este era un monto que se hacía un poco cuesta arriba. De hecho es una cifra que se acerca considerablemente al precio por el cual adquirimos el auto. Pero, ya hoy ha comenzado el proceso de reparación, el mecánico hoy se dedicó a desarmar el motor, y en la semana debemos conseguir los repuestos. Esperamos no tardarnos más de dos semanas en esta reparación a corazón abierto. Como anécdota personal, y ante mi ignorancia en mecánica he tomado la decisión de estudiar y aprender todo lo que pueda sobre mecánica y aún más en relación con el modelo y marca de mi carro. Porque siento que hay cosas que son relativamente sencillas y que si aprendo a solucionar bien el problema me ahorro un dinero. Así que deseenme suerte en esta aventura de aprender sobre mecánica. Confieso que hoy viendo desarmar el motor me dí cuenta de lo nada que sé sobre mi carro.  Ahora bien, al terminar con esta reparación los planes son cambiar los neumáticos y hacerle el mantenimiento a la transmisión delantera y frenos. Sin duda este es el máximo punto de iconicidad de Venezuela, el máximo costo no es adquirir un vehículo, sino poder mantenerlo, y sin motor un Automovil es nada, por ende estas en una dura encrucijada, pero sé que saldrán bien parados de ella, que este haciendo todo bien, paso por paso y que este abierto a aprender de su vehiculo son dos grandes puntos a resaltar :)

Saludos mi pana! Esperemos que todo salga bien, ya destapado el motor el mecánico no vió nada raro ni deteriorado más allá de las cosas que se le cambian al motor en este tipo de reparación. Verro mi pana resultó más caro de lo que se pensaba el carro, por eso siempre hay que hacer muchos cálculos a la hora de adquirir uno, ahora el carro te va a salir mucho más caro de lo que puede cotizarse en el mercado, como ya sabes cualquier cosa me escribes y te ayudo

Gracias mi pana, pues cuando lo compramos sabíamos que tocaba hacerle esto y otro par de cositas para que esté en condiciones óptimas para los planes que tenemos. Y pues con el costo de esta reparación la diferencia al precio que cotiza en el mercado no es tanta. Porque este modelo de auto aquí en mi ciudad oscila entre los 1100 y 1300$ y con esta reparación no llegamos a 1300$ sumando está reparación al costo de compra del carro. Ahí vamos poco a poco haciendo las reparaciones.
