Earlier today i was quite hungry and i had forgotten to take out of the freezer some meat. When i decide to eat meat, i usually take it out of the freezer the night before and cook it during the day.  Sadly, yesterday i forgot to do that and at the same time i had no other food choices to make apart from eating a yogurt which would ease my hunger for 1-2 hours or so. 

Thus, i decided to go the easy way and order some junk food. Thus, i ordered through an app and in 20 minutes my food arrived and ate like a "king". I don't know about you but i really like everything that i shouldn't be, like junk food and sweets. I also tend to buy often both of the above. 

Now the prices in Greece generally in everything have skyrocketed while the salaries basically remained the same which is pretty bad if you ask me. To give you an example of what i mean you all know the Greek Souvlaki i guess. It's one of the most popular street foods ever, and most delicious as well.

Around 10 years ago its price range was 1.5 euros to 2 euros, with 2 euros considered to be quite expensive. When the Covid and the whole Ukraine war occurred its price skyrocketed and until today reached 3.5-4 euros which are basically, 2, 2.5 times the "original price".  If you ask me the price is crazy and i while for example i used to buy often now i prefer other street foods as i consider them more value for money. 

Now when i ordered today and after i paid i thought to myself, "How much money do i spent, ordering junk food, sweets etc etc per month?". There are 2 reasons that i thought of that. The first one being that i want to lose weight and the second one is that i don't want to waste money on things like these. Ofc eating junk food and dessert can give you a feeling of happiness in some way but i f you take it a step further, psychologically it can turn into an addiction besides everything else.

So i did the math for the last 3 months. Thankfully all those ordering apps have let's say a database with all my orders and how much i paid, so it was easy to find the actual numbers. To my surprise and i say this in a negative way, i spent each month around 100-120 euros only on junk food and sweets which is a huge amount. 

This was something like a reality check and starting tomorrow i will try to either stop ordering junk food at all, or limit it at first to like 1-3 times per month. I realised that currently i basically order 2 times per week which is crazy.  Let me know if you spending your money on junk food as well or whether you have discover a more balanced way.
