If you want to make money from home by using your skill, then it’s crucial that you know how to get clients so that you can set yourself up for success. <h3>Freelancers Are Increasing With The Number Of Jobs</h3> The number of freelancers is increasing, and so is the freelance economy. Freelancing is becoming more popular than traditional jobs. It’s a growing trend and, quite frankly, it’s only going to get bigger in the coming years. The numbers don’t lie - more than one-third of Americans have turned to freelance work at least once in their life. Why are more people choosing to freelance? In fact, a study by Intuit found that in the United States alone, freelancers comprise 36% of the workforce in 2022 and will make up 50% by 2025. This means that if you're not already looking at how to get into this space (or thinking about how long it might take you to get there), then you're behind the times! <h3> Businesses Are Saving Big Time</h3> You might have heard that workers have lost out in the gig economy, but the truth is that businesses are saving big time. They don't have to pay benefits, they don't have to pay taxes (if you hire freelancers through websites like Upwork or Fiverr), they don't need office space and they don’t even need to provide healthcare insurance! This means more profits for companies. *But what about freelancers?* Freelancing can be a great way for people who have a passion for something to pursue their dreams without having to commit to full-time hours at a company. It also gives them more freedom; one of my friends wanted an excuse not to go back home after graduating from college so he moved to Thailand and started teaching English online via Skype. He now earns enough money from this job so he never has to visit his parents again! <h3> Freelancing Is For Everyone </h3> If you're a business owner, freelancing is a great way to save money. You can hire good people cheaper than you would if they were permanent employees. If you're an employee who wants to earn more money, freelancing is a great way to get work done cheaply. If they need extra help on a project or want something done quickly and cheaply, freelancers are there for them. If you're someone who wants flexibility in their working hours and freedom from office politics, freelancing is a great way for them to have that flexibility and freedom at the same time! ***In a few short years, the freelance economy will overtake traditional jobs.*** It’s easy to see why. Freelancing is more accessible than ever, with opportunities available on sites like Upwork, Fiverr and PeoplePerHour— all of which allow workers to set their own hours and work remotely from anywhere in the world (provided they have an Internet connection). And since freelancers are self-employed, they get to keep 100% of their income instead of handing some off to an employer who might not deserve it. <h3>Conclusion</h3> As we've seen, the freelance economy is on the rise. It's not just a fad that will fade away; it's here to stay. As more people start freelancing and realize how much money they can make by doing so, they'll be drawn in by the potential for financial freedom that this offers them. There is also a downside to freelancing, or the gig economy, which needs to be seriously discussed. It can have benefits, but it can also create terrible inequality and exploitation. Workers can be hired and fired at a moment's notice, so there will be no job security. For jobs low-skilled jobs or ones where there are plenty of people willing to do them, competition will drive wages down to almost zero. For online freelancing, wages will be set at the level of the poorest economy - why pay someone in the West $100 a day when someone in Africa will happily do the same work just as well for $10 a day ? With no unions or restraint on companies, workers risk being terribly exploited, blacklisted if they speak out against a bad employer, or refused work if their feedback or social credit score drops too low. Many government benefit schemes are based on an outdated notion that you are either in work, or unemployed, and in both cases that the relevant status persists unchanged for significant periods of time. They don't cope well with hybrid working, where you might do a few gigs, then get nothing for a few days, or where you are working hard but not earning enough to live on. Overall, I think that freelancing is a good additional work option, but solutions need to be found for the downsides, and there will still be a place for the traditional 9-5 for jobs that can't be automated or outsourced. While I think freelancing will go up, I don't think it will be for everyone. Gig work tends to be somewhat unstable and the pay is inconsistent. Sure they might not need to pay benefits but places like California (where I live) are trying to force it for gig work. There is more to working in an office. What about things that are manufactured, grown etc. Until the robots do all that (which won't be long right enough) freelancers will not overtake traditional working.
