Another real estate evolution: new Redfin program will enable home purchases with no agent

The real estate industry is poised to go through disruption.

Many feel the fees paid to sell a house are outrageous.  It is an industry that did not change while the realtor association is very powerful.  This created a monopolistic situation where buyers and sellers really have no option.

This could change and one is a pilot program being tested in Boston using technology.  

Redfin, a national real estate chain, introduced Redfin Direct which is a banner ad allowing people to buy and sell without an agent.  

The price is 2% which is much lower than the 6% that people end up paying when agents are involved.
