This image is really hard to ignore really. I mean what was apple thinking when they give ridiculous pricing to their products. I'm an Apple user and own a MacBook Pro but that's as far as I've dived into the world of Apple products. I haven't really felt some of the products to be VFM and therefore stopped short of owning other items.

But $999 for a freaking aluminium stand? You gotto be kidding but Apple really isn't kidding about this. I was wondering what else one can do for the price of one stand apart from the meme below. I'm sort of killing some time here so bear with me. 

Let's see if I can list 10 worthwhile things I can do with the price of a single Apple monitor stand! 

1. I donate to the local orphanage that takes care of HIV positive girls couple of times in the year. This could cover atleast 5 months of rent for the orphanage building. An expense they sometimes fall short of raising funds for. 5 months of safe roof over some 20 odd kids! 
2. A round trip flight from my hometown Mangalore to San Francisco. That's a really long trip that I've been wanting to do for some time. 
3. 1 month non-stop travel around India by road or rail. Probably more if you stay cheap! 
4. Round trip tickets to Nepal, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia at the very least.
5. Discounted group price for 8 day Cruise in European cruise ship 'Rhapsody Of The Seas' that a dear friend pitched me today for a trip scheduled by him and his extended family later this year.
6. About 5 sky diving sessions in Prague. 4 at the very least. 
7. New paint for my decade old Fiesta Sports. Not that it needs it badly, I would love to get it done soon enough.
8. Some new Samsung S10 variant.  
9. Few discounted SteemFest tickets! 
10. 1 year membership with bells and whistles at the best gym in my city for 6 people. 

That's actually a lot more than I thought I could think of when I was looking at the photo in my whatsapp earlier today. 😂 

Apple, what's wrong with you? Why you do this? 

It's not just this stand, the new $5999 Apple workstation has just 256 GB SSD storage. Whatever happened to premium products that's also worth our money? 

What else do you think you'd do for $999 if you had that money and didn't want to spend on a stupid monitor stand!
