# Apple Cider Vinegar, the Magic Elixir

I have never really been one for home remedies, as I thought it all to be phony. I am sure we have all heard or came across things, where people claimed they could do this and that. We were just left thinking to ourselves that it's all just crazy talk.

We'll about two years ago I had a really bad sinus infection and being the stubborn bonehead I am, I didn't want to go to the doctor. I just assumed it would go away on its own. (Yeah, I know I'm not winning any awards for my IQ) We'll someone recommended I at least give apple cider vinegar a try. I did resist the idea at first but I figured why not, it was better than going to the doctor anyways.

I ran to the store and picked up a bottle of generic apple cider vinegar, as I didn't want to spend much money on something I thought wasn't going to do much anyways. Well, I wasn't too sure what I was doing and poured myself about a 1oz shot. The smell caught me off guard and I knew I was in for a rough one here. I closed my eyes, tilted my head back and shot it back. It burned all the way down, though after a small internal battle to keep it down I survived.

Over the course of the next few days, I took a shot of apple cider vinegar first thing in the morning. Again, I had no idea what I was doing but come that fourth day, I was cured! It totally took me by surprised. Have I stumbled across some miracle elixir!?!?!? I couldn't believe it actually worked.

Being the nerd I am I went to Google and had to research what I could about this magical elixir. To my surprised the rest of the world was already onto Apple Cider Vinegar. Was I living under a rock? There were so many amazing uses for this stuff I was blown away.

We'll for those who are in the dark about this wonderful stuff just like I was here are a few miracle uses that you can use Apple Cider Vinegar for:

### 1.       Weight loss – who doesn't want to lose some weight, especially after the coming holiday season?

Well as it turns out, having 1 to 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar with roughly 8 oz of water a day can really help aid you in shedding that unwanted holiday fat and regulate your weight.  Apple cider Vinegar has also been linked to increasing ones metabolism. Though there have been no human studies. **2.       Aids Sore Throat – Well how in the world does something that burns on the way day help with a sore throat, that doesn't make sense?**

I repeat until it's all gone. I find this really helps. I would do this throughout the day and you will find that your scratchy itchy throat will feel a lot better in no time!

### 3.       Helps prevent cancer! – But how?

Now I know you have heard this about so many things and they all promise to be this and that but as research shows Apple Cider Vinegar is high in polyphenols. These lovely little things help fight oxidative stress. This doesn't make it the magic liquid to stop cancer out but just adds to your chances to live a long lustrous life. ### 4.       Clears Sinus Issues! – Did you already mention this?

As I said earlier in just a few days I had cured my sinus infection. Now I had no idea how to ingest it at the time and after researching I discovered I did it the worst way possible. The easiest thing to do is take 2 tea spoons in about 8oz of water and toss it back. Research shows that the potassium in Apple Cider Vinegar aids in thinning mucus. Keeps your nasal passage flowing, preventing congestion. As I stated early as well, germs really don't like the acidic environment that Apple Cider Vinegar creates, just as you guessed, it prevents those germs that fuel nasal congestion. Yes, you read that right! You can use Apple Cider Vinegar as a cleaner to aid in a chemical free home. - Freshen up your clothes. Just add 1 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar to your wash load and it will help rid that awful smell from your dirty gym clothes. It works wonders for me when I was my Jiu Jitsu Gi. That thing can get pretty gnarly sitting in my gym bag if I don't get to it in time, so this does the trick.

- Clean your sink, toilet, tube, floor, the list goes on. The trick is to add 2 cups to a cleaning bucket of hot water. I will then soak the area such as the tub/sink for about ten minutes. Perfect time to hop on Steemit and check out another post from @Fitnessnerd. Then I will go back and give it a good scrubbing after. Now, depending on how filthy of an area you are cleaning obviously you might need to leave it longer but this is just what I do.
