<p><div class="text-justify">Creed Taylor es un productor discográfico norteamericano que con su sello CTI recuperó la respetabilidad y popularidad del jazz. Sus álbums son tanto arte visual como sonoro. En sus portadas presenta fotografías impactantes y sus grabaciones tienen una gran calidad. Después de obtener su licenciatura en psicología en 1951, Taylor tocó la trompeta en clubs de Virginia Beach (Virginia). Después se trasladó a Nueva York en 1954 y trabajó como cazatalentos en Bethlehem Records. En 1956 cambió al sello ABC-Paramount y en 1960 fundó su filial Impulse!, y aunque contrató al gigante del saxofón tenor y soprano John Coltrane, abandonó la compañía discográfica al año siguiente para firmar con Verve Records, donde trabajó durante seis años. La melodía es encantadora y agradable, y suenan unos cascabeles que le dan un aire de canción de Navidad. El primero en hacer su solo es Montgomery con un gusto exquisito introduciendo frases más atrevidas de vez en cuando. Luego pasa a utilizar octavas manteniendo un discurso amable y desenfadado. A continuación entra Smith con una línea melódica más impetuosa y enérgica haciendo malabarismos. Después los dos se ponen a tocar juntos entrelazando sus improvisaciones en una interpretación espléndida. Para concluir, el grupo reexpone el tema.</div></p>

The melody is charming and pleasant, and some jingle bells sound that gives it the feel of a Christmas song. The first to solo is Montgomery with exquisite taste introducing more daring phrases from time to time. Then he goes on to use octaves while maintaining a friendly and carefree speech. Next Smith enters with a more impetuous and energetic melodic line juggling. After that, the two play together weaving their improvisations in a superb performance. To conclude, the group restates the theme.</div></blockquote></p>
