It seems that the subject of refrigeration is top everywhere, air conditioners that work without conventional electricity seems a fairy tale but today is a reality that comes closer and closer to reality and especially to commercialization, in other publications the problem that has caused the massive production of electric air conditioners, the energy demand is huge, in 10 years the planet would need at least half of what it produces in energy just for air conditioners. A passive cooling system without electricity was recently created with economic materials promises to cool homes efficiently and completely free of charge because you will not have to consume conventional electricity. 

The prototype was created by a group of researchers in Buffalo, the students of the school of engineering and applied sciences, created a box with super absorbent foam plus an ultra thin layer of aluminum and polymer in order to facilitate the absorption of sunlight and heat produced, with this action can cool not only the interior of a house can also cool the environment.

The most interesting thing about this development is that the materials used for manufacturing are low cost which indicates their sustainability and ability to be developed in mass. In addition its conventional energy consumption is null, in addition this designed to be installed in roofs of houses or buildings to take advantage of the solar light to the maximum being able to reduce the temperature to 6 degrees centigrade during the day and in the night to arrive at a comfortable 11 degrees totally free.

One of the materials in the box is called polydimethylsiloxane, a special polymer that has properties to concentrate heat and dissipate it, the polymer is glued to the aluminum layer, have a relationship of concentrating heat with reflection in the case of aluminum and the polymer dissipates heat quickly.

The most salient material is the polymer that can remain cold under extreme heat conditions this can happen thanks to passive cooling and best of all it does not need electricity, batteries or other alternative energy sources.

So far have tested several prototypes that were installed in several buildings and houses achieving spectacular results lowering the temperature in the day to about 6 degrees Celsius, 11 degrees Celsius during night hours, I am expected to achieve the island effect of heat produced by the radiation of the sun can produce all the reaction necessary to operate optimally this air conditioning unique in its kind.

The low cost to build this air conditioning is the most outstanding thing in my personal opinion, there are millions of people living in tropical areas, this will be very beneficial for families who have to endure high temperatures in the dry season, even elderly people die frequently due to heart problems. And generally I can say that it can be used in large cities where energy consumption is increasingly high, to massify this type of technology change in energy consumption would be very beneficial to the environment.
