A sincere analysis of Hive and Hive.blog - How are we doing so far?

Here we are in a crisis that no one saw coming and after a few months ago most of the collaborative users decided to join and form this new brand that now we are trying to raise and we are getting affection little by little. Steem has not been able to get up from this blow in which the creators have fled in favor of this new Blockchain but after 2 months we still have things to improve and much work to do. This is a post about those approaches. *Let's get started*

I wanted to start this analysis with the positive since there is a lot to praise, a pretty good organization among the users who created the network besides putting all the control on the users again and returning relief to the market by enlarging their currency as we have already seen in the last Pump. The efforts to integrate Hive into the exchanges are well done and that speaks for itself about the professionalism of those in charge, also how they have handled the advertising and how they have promoted themselves is being quite decent.
I could add that this looks very similar to the beginnings of Steemit and Steem, with good management and decent publicity, the old Steem that taught us so many lessons because in Hive it is improving and taking a good step but there are always the features that can be improved and I think they would give a complete new approach to the platform.

The first thing is that the main page (Hive.blog), where most of the new users land does not comply with giving a sense of brand because it is the same design of Steemit.com but changing the color palette, the copy is so exact that even details such as the UI are exact with the deficiencies already marked as the lack of a good search engine or customization I see so necessary if the website wants to put the label (sometimes diffuse) of a social network.
I see Hive as a web of contents and I think that the biggest strength we can accentuate and improve is the HOW we present that content, we want it to look professional and at the same time minimalist like in webs like Medium? or we want it to be more dynamic and casual like Facebook? I think that there is the key to everything, to use the UI as a means to present the contents of the users in a new way that invites the users to go through the posts even if they don't have a single penny or a single vote. Which leads me to another problem:

The $0.00 or $0.01 in the posts seems to me to be a negative thing in a community that seeks above all things quality in content because I will say something that is not very popular: most good content is not rewarded either by lack of visibility or lack of voting power. Most of the posts are not rewarded and I also think that prioritizing profits should not be our focus, if we don't implement a little more discreetly the reward function and we base the whole platform on how much money you can earn people will find a way to hack into the system and generate rewards with mediocre posts. @cerati explains this point in their [post](https://hive.blog/hive-148441/@cerati/guys-we-have-to-get-rid-of-the-usd0-00-in-the-posts).
The always desired official chat of the Blockchain is always in one of my earrings if they ask me what I would like Hive to have and that is that I find it uncomfortable to be asking about the disagreements of the users I want to contact and if to top it off those users use the Hive.blog platform it is difficult for me because the notifications there are very slow and even tiresome to have to load a page to see them.

But although I am being very hard with some of these lacks I see in Hive a project of much better development than the previous ones, the communities work well and are growing, there are several users (including me) that are promoting the Blockchain outside the platform and developing strategies for new users to arrive with the best tools so they can contribute good content.

We're definitely doing well, let's keep it up and this network will be great. ;D

Thus far I really prefer Hive over Steemit in almost every way. I don't know if I would feel that way if it weren't for PeakD though. Whatever happened to a chat option? Partiko had one that functioned (kinda)... i wish we had that here but I suppose it is easy for me to be a judgy pants because I don't know how to develop anything :P
