A Harvest, Unloading Wood, Rainy Soak - Sunday
<b>Woke up to a solid .3 inches of rain in the gauge yesterday morning. We are finally getting some moisture down for the trees so hopefully it gives them all a bit of a boost going into Fall. Everything looks so much nicer on the farm when the dirt, dust, and ash is all washed off and the air is nice and clear. We had our morning soak and I spent more time with the Thercane and the jets working on the knots in my shoulder.

As I was clearing a path to back the trailer full of wood into the yard I found this Leopard Slug (Limax maximus) making its way along the ground by the ladder. I was in a hurry to get the clearing done so I left it alone. Many time the slugs get a flight into the creek area where it stays moister.

I got the trailer backed up into the yard and set about unloading the rounds. Mid way through I had to go inside and get some nutrients in me as I could feel the light headedness. Once I had myself in order I was able to finish the unloading.

The wood got unloaded but not stacked. I will likely be splitting it where it lies then stacking it in the pile. I have a bunch of bull pine rounds that I needs to deal with as well but they will not split anywhere near as easy as the fir and spruce I got.

Since it had rained I didn't want to go through the squash early to pick since I would get completely soaked  so I waited till after I got the wood unloaded and it had a chance to dry a bit. I got 34 pounds of squash which is pretty good though it was 2 days with no picking. The plants got hit by the cold but just the leaves, they are still producing some. I only need 23 more pounds to hit 2000 pounds of summer squash picked since June 27th.

We watched the Seahawks game and watched them piss it away. It was nice to see how many people in the crowd were not wearing masks. The moment it was over we were back in the spa. Some thunderstorms rolled through in the afternoon and gave us some nice downpours while we soaked.

The sun came out from behind the passing storms and made for a nice evening.

Today I have to get the order ready for the co-op tomorrow morning, do laundry, start splitting wood, check the melons in the squash garden, pick peppers and tomatoes, and I need to pot up some house plants for the Winter.

Well we have multiple versions of the truth and science.

Remember quite a few paid studies said that marijuana was going to make you go insane and cigarettes were safe and healthy enough for children and pregnant women...

And the Tuskegee experiments were morally and ethically horrific. 

So you have honest God truth and science then you have people who have to sell their academic soul to corporations for funding and basically write a paper parroting whatever their employer wants to hear. 


We have a complete consensus on climate change however every single one of these models and studies is actually very skewed. So many of these are discovered to be complete garbage as well as manufactured data. 

Science has been for sale and highly marketable.

Leopard slugs are cool. I saw one attack a snail once, they move fast when they want to. Also stepped on one barefoot once, it felt like a thumb squirming under my foot.. they are strong.

They are partially beneficial since they eat other slugs that munch on the plants too. I've found them during mating season when they hang by slime and mate in the air. Weird that bald eagles and slugs mate in the air.
